Black & Decker Dustbuster Vacuum PV1820L-XE $118.40 @ Good Guys eBay Store (Free Pickup)

60
CTECH20

Finally getting around to buying one of these awesome units. Updated model over the PV1810 with powerful 18V motor and now with lithium battery.

Very well built, handy pivot nozzle/head that also folds up for compact storage and charging.

10 minutes running time, which is not bad.

Best of all, 2 year warranty. Really good for a small appliance nowadays.

Myer are trying to flog this off for $199, crazy!

    This deal sucks.

    • what feels like a suck, is really a blow

    • It does, just not very well.

  • Was nearly gonna get one of these - is it a good unit - some mixed reviews? They also have the Platinum one for $10 less (doesn't fold)

    • This may help previous deal

      • This is an updated model from that, still though… Wish the price was that good! David Jones price matched it for me without blinking which was good!

        • Hmm, would be useful (maybe) if this could suck and blow!

Yeah the PV1810 is awesome value if you can get it sub $100. HN sell for $129 so it might go down to a final clearance soon. But right now, this is a great compromise if you can't wait.

Aside from the lithium battery which won't die/burn out as quick as the NiCad, I think they've improved the dust canister and air tightening the seals, which should mean it sucks even more.

          :)

  • get it from amazon for heaps cheaper

    • True about being much cheaper, but their voltage means it can't be just plugged in with an adapter. Any workarounds?

      • Did i see a DSE deal on ozB for a switching multi voltage power plug?

Also no warranty if you buy from overseas. I'd bet these things die at around the 18 to 20 month mark

        • If you mean this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188241, then the voltage on that is too low for these vacuums, happy to be corrected though

And as for warranty, isn't the warranty on this anyway a year so even if they die around the 18-20 month mark, they wouldn't be covered except if additional warranty was purchased.

This is a great deal kickling, since I was after one of these but just sounding out the purchase from Amazon idea.

        • @jdf:

Cheers. No the warranty is actually 2 years in Australia, i think i put that in the deal explanation. Fyi I picked my unit up yesterday and played with it… Awesome power. Cool that it has an inbuilt extendable head and the brush piece just flips up for hard floors.

        • @kickling: Oh that's even better. Sorry I think I missed that part in the description. I think this is well worth the price especially since it folds up so well and doesn't take too much space.

  • Thanks OP, was just looking for a bargain on last minute and I spot this. Had the older version of this before but dies after around 4+ year hopefully this one can last about the same or longer.
