That is really cheap! Better grab one before price increase as aussie dollar is weak so far.

  • i am looking for different model of lens.

    • cool story bro.

    I'm clearly missing something here…
Why SO much money for a short lens??

    • It's not about how long it is…its about the quality of the glass too and how wide you can get it.. At 2.8 across 24-70 that's some sexy shit..

        that it is… i'd still rather a 1.8 prime though :S

        • I've tried both prime and this versatile lens, and at the end of the day, I prefer this lens over any primes unless if you are professional photographer sure by all means get the prime lens but for "intermediate" photographer this lens is a no brainier and my style is portraiture photography. This lens even beat the performance of my sigma f 1/4 35mm prime (which I've sold off) in terms of clarity. Heck, even the auto focus performed superbly well. You pay for what you get at the end of the day.

        • @cloudie9:

still a decently amount for the lens (albeit very good)
i just cant imagine it being that much better than i 1.4 or .18G nikon prime lens… (special for portrait photos… where your feet are the zoom lens)
that said i cant compare the two… :s

@wisc: No too sure about against nikon prime lens but if it is against third party, in my own experience, hands down this lens.
