Asus Eee PC 904 with 6 Hours Battery Life for Only $333 from MLN - Limited Stock

70

I know I posted something just before, but I cant help myself, this deal is way to good.
its $333 for an Atom, xp based Asus netbook
yes its only a 8.9" screen but thats better than the 7" screen the 701 eeepc has,
This netbook has a 160 gb hard drive, and comes with windows xp-home, wireless, webcam, and most importantly a 6 hour battery life. No cashbacks, no waiting, no terms and conditions or tricky steps involved, its a straight up hot deal.
the cheapest on static ice for the same machine is $587, and similar models are around $460.

MLN are pretty straight forward, just make sure you pay for it quickly, so it doesnt sell out as they will only hold stock for you if you make payment, (I have been caught out before).
I watch these guys all the time as my office is only 2 streets away from there main store and they do some crazy stuff.

Very good value for the price. Why don't these netbook manufactures make dual core processors in 12" with 6 cell batteries under $600. Thats what I want!

    • As far as I know, Intel doesn't allow manufacturers to use dual core Atoms on Netbooks.

      • Really?! Why! Why!

        • +3

Actually its microsoft who dont allow it. Terms of using XP on netbooks include only having single core processors in them and 1GB of ram max. The same applies for Win 7 starter edition in netbooks iirc.
Netbooks using Win 7 HP wont have these restrictions so its now possible some new ones may filter in with dual core.

edit: The added cost of Home Premium means the dual core netbooks wont be under $600 any time soon. Current netbooks get XP for around $5-$10 a copy.

I just bought an Acer AS1410 from the US which has dual core Celeron processor, Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), 11.6" screen with 1366x768 resolution, 8 hours battery life for AU$523 delivered to door. I'm totally impressed with it!

      • thats really good,
Aus pricing will be really good in the next few weeks, as companies start to catch up with the dollar, once all the bew stuff filters through it will be cheaper locally again as well.

      • God Bless America! Where you buy from?

        • BH Photo Video.

UPS delivery took 5 days to get here… super fast… with online tracking!

I think the new CULV processor netbook/notebooks will be 12" around $1000 though, they are a mix of the old school high end low voltage expensive stuff crossed with todays cheap Atom netbooks.
Hence $1000, best of both worlds, we will see them everywhere by mid next year.
At the moment the best example is the Asus UL20.
Geez I know too much about this stuff.

    • lol. I want too much; performance, compact size, battery life, low price. I have a Lenovo s10 and I have got 2 of those (size and price), I can get battery when I get a new netbook (I buy a new laptop every 12 months, due for a new one in May), but I can't see that I can add performance to that list, yet. Well, manufacturers you have till May.

      • yeah I know how you feel, in the past you had to spend big bucks to get 6 hours battery life, and you would not get much performance either, around $3000. I think things are changing, next year will be all about light and portable powerful machines for $800-$1300.

      • what would u do with your old netboook ? i might want to buy from you haha

        • lol. eBay… people pay heaps for them! Sell with 1 month manufactures warranty, cost of ownership is really low. My last laptop (compaq), I purchased for $424 after cashback (combination of a few sales and really good cashback) sold it 11 months later for $399 on eBay… Best thing cause of the cashback my receipt said $574, so the person didnt feel ripped off! (Cost of ownership around $50, when you adjust for eBay fees). I do the same with referb iPods, bought a 20gb 4th gen iPod on apple referb for $99. Sold it 11 months later for $90. (Cost of ownership around $20). Also great thing is you always have something new! I don't think I will have as much luck with my lenovo s10, the price of laptops have crashed since June! I paid $450 from topbuy (prob find the deal in here if you search!) after moneyback co. I expect my cost of ownership to be a few hundred, still way cheaper than renting or the depreciation on a more expensive laptop. Can you tell I am doing an accounting major at uni?

  • Did they sell out of the other 8.5hr model now that they have this one? They're notebooks.com.au on Peel St, right? So can pickup? Thanks.

    • Link says the othe other one sold out. This one is cheaper though
yeah you can pick this up from the MLN peel st store, thats the one. that domain name is also theirs.

  • Make sure you pay by credit card or cash instore — they won't hold an item for you until payment clears (including BPAY).

    • if you follow the instructions in the payment email and forward your proof of payment, they will hold it, but yes, if you dont pay for it, they will not hold it. Especially when eveyrone else is trying to buy one, it makes sense.

    Soon to be released.

    RRP US$499.

Asus 1201 is said to have 12" screen, 1.6Ghz dual core, Ion powered graphics, Windows 7, 3GB ram etc (http://www.netbookreviews.net/asus/eee-pc-1201n/) Making it more like a standard notebook albeit at netbook prices.

    • thanks Shawn,
it will probably be $700 here, but thats still an amazing price, some exciting stuff coming out.

      • Yep that's why it's good to know someone in the US who can buy it and ship it over - instant savings!

        • OMFG! that is awesome… I would pay $US500 for that!!

  • Dimensions: 266mm(W) x 191.2mm(D) x 28.5mm~ 38mm(H)
    Weight: 1.4 kg

It is bigger and heavier then their 10" models. Doesn't make sense to me.

    • the battery is larger, this is why, the size is the same as it is the 1000 series chasis. It may weigh a little more, thats becuase of the battery.
