If you want a better display, HP still have the 1301 for $99. IPS, but no BT or GPS.

Might as well buy from China for a little more and get something better :p
Which one do you recommend?
May be Ainol
But for someone looking for something they can easily take back if/when it breaks, this is a better option.
Though I agree it is not a good price, I still want to add my 5 cents about buying from China:
Bought from buyincoins with same specs for $48 (when AUD was ~90c) and it took 1-2 months to ship but after 3 months the screen went all white. Touch screen and Display using miniHDMI is working but it means no more PvZ2 (Boohooohoo…). Was going to cost me ~$20 to ship back to get refund (shipping at my expense) so I opted for $15 store credit instead. If I bought locally, I could just take it back in store. Also I haven't seen anything similarly priced in buyincoins with 1G RAM since.
These things are great for kids… Will play any games no problem.
crap screen on these
*4 colours.
A bargain would imply that this tablet would have some sort of value.
You would think so but I've been negged a number of times for stating similar. Just because something is cheap doesn't make it a bargain. If it's crap and cheap, it's still crap.
I just grabbed a Windows 8.1 version of this from Coles for the same price. I'm a convert to Windows after getting a Windows Phone and I love the tablet.
Do they have any 10" versions?
Yes, for more $, I think $129 to $149 depending on which model and where from. Do your research first as there are still some older ones floating around that are Dual Core and some don't have Play Store. Some also don't have bluetooth if that's something you want. This one at least has bluetooth.
Running Windows?
I ask because you mentioned 'play store'.
I'm pretty close to biting the bullet on one of the Chinese models (the Teclast X98 Air), but would prefer something with a local presence.
@sanstorm:
Sorry, my mistake, was referring to Android. Have to pay more attention :-)
I think the Pendo W8 tabs don't go to 10, at least not what i've seen in stores.
I love the 7 though (I prefer smaller devices). Quad core, with 1GB RAM. In contrast, my phone is a quad with 512MB RAM and runs a treat.
there are new android tablets that dual dual to win8 - no restarting required, think it takes 20 seconds to direct switch over. Chuwi vi8 super edition was one of the.
quad core 1.7ghz, 2gb ram and 32gb rom, for about usd$120.
although a bit more than $80, but way faster and more useful.
Joke post?
I wouldn't pay $50 for that terrible display.
