  • Will it apply for any number of orders ( same item)? Or just the first one :(

    • Deal has been updated with more detail.

    • valid only for 1 item in your basket.

Bought Caltex Woolworths egift card. Thanks

    • me too!
Only able to get the $200 voucher though.
      That's $161.50!

      Did you get the $500?

    • Can be used in supermarket to buy grocery, right?

      • yes

    • YA I did bought Caltex Woolworths egift card too

    • Sad I missed out on the gift cards, that was a pretty awesome saving!

    • +1

Nevermind, looks like all the Caltex/Woolworths eGift cards sold out

      edit

Can someone please link to this? The site is a nightmare to navigate in a rush. I'm only seeing local deals or having to fish out the Caltex/Woolworths deal from the few hundred they have nationally. Search also isn't working how I would expect/hope

I see the link to the $500 one in this comment chain but that is sold out

  • +3

If you missed out you can buy the groupon gift card and use it next time.

Cheers. Used my Citibank Plus to get an additional 5% cash back.

    • Good idea, and then you can save even further if you don't miss out on the gift cards!

      • +1

You can do giftcardception if you really wanted to.

        • +3

Yes but be careful, Gift cards are only valid until 30.04.2015

        • @teehee:
crosses fingers that they'll have sales during easter.

    • That is available in value of $50 only so I presume you will only get 15% off that one $50 item even if you purchase multiple. It's better than nothing but I hope more Caltex Woolworths eGift Cards become available, instead.

    • +2

It took me 4 weeks to receive the gift card last time, and then the code would not work. Another 8 weeks of them investigating it, and then they gave me a 'credit' (NOT a refund) for the amount paid. Never again.

  • What about clicking through cashrewards.com.au for an extra 4.5% cash back?

    • +1

Definitely doesn't apply to WISH gift cards, otherwise I don't see anywhere where it wouldn't stack :) ?

      • +2

Buying a groupon gift card will stack

        • Gotcha, thanks. So for a $50 Groupon giftcard expiring 30/04/2015 you'd hopefully pay $40.25 (after cashback & applying code) = $42.50 ($50 - 15% SALE15 code) - $2.25 ($50 x 4.5% cashrewards).

  • How fast do you get the gift cards?

    • +1

It depends. I haven't received the one i bought on 21 Jan. Contacted groupon and first was told to wait another week and then said they have resent it… Now I am going through paypal dispute to get my money back.

      • Cool, well looks like I won't buy it if I'm going to use it urgently.

      • It is the Groupon gift card i am talking here. As the WWS already gone.

      • I bought a discounted $50 Groupon gc same time as you, it arrived by post <3 weeks later. Used it immediately to buy a discounted Caltex Woolworths egc. Perhaps yours was stolen in the mail system.

        • I havent got mine too. :(

          Ill wait till next week

        • @Turd: There is a tracking link on the deal page where you can check if it has been shipped:

          https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/national-deal/gg-groupon-go…

Look for 'Click here to enter your details and track the status of your existing product orders.'

Mine was updated to shipped status >2 weeks after purchase date. A day later I then got a shipped notification email from Groupon. About 3-4 days later a Groupon gift card arrived in the post.

        • @spacecowboy: Yeah I checked it this morning, Says shipped, but also says tracking unavailable.

        • @Turd: It is sent regular mail so there is no tracking number. The Groupon link can only tell you if they've marked it shipped.

If you don't get it call them to report it missing. Groupon know if the gc code has been used or not, so should be willing to cancel & reissue a new one.

        • @spacecowboy: ah ok.

cool will still just wait see if i get it by fri or not

        • I've not bought a Groupon gift card before, how do you use it? After clicking "Buy Now!" I could not see where to enter any gift card/code. There are various payment options and you can enter a code like SALE15 and click "Redeem" but once the discount is applied the option disappears suggesting that if the gift card is applied like a redemption code then you can either use the gift card or discount code but not both when paying/making a purchase.

        • +1

@samlor: There is a code printed on the Groupon gc which you type in at checkout & click redeem button.

There was a comment from ozbargainer sblash on a recent Groupon deal about applying both a gc code & discount code to the same purchase:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182489

Not sure if this works as have not tried it. Perhaps others have?

        • @spacecowboy: Has anyone who purchased the $15 groupon credit from the Moonlight Cinema's had any luck in stacking the deal?

As per Samior's post, once u add in the discount code you can't add in the voucher code, it's one or the other?

Anyone have a solution to this?

          I tried sblash's suggestion, doesn't seem to work…

          Any ideas?

    • You get the digital version almost instantly

      • But that one doesn't working. Have you tried to use it? You will need a physical card.

        • +1

I have used the Woolworths digital one by typing in the pin etc at the self checkout

        • @teehee: That's different. That's an e-giftcard, which is sent electronicly. While the groupon one isn't. The voucher code is a gesture or something which doesn't work.

  • Have anyone ordered original apple lightning cable with them? I'm curious that does come with apple package or just cable itself in parcel.

  • Any idea if this works for the travel deals?

    • +2

It does, just placed 2 orders. Discount maxed out on $50, but still decent :)

      • Cool, thanks!

Would never purchase from Groupon again. Currently got a chargeback going against them to try and get my $200 back after the hotel refused to honor it (was within all t&cs).

    • Did you contact Groupon to resolve the issue before starting the chargeback?

      • +1

Yes, they told me that they couldn't do anything outside the cooling off period of 7 days.
They have now offered store credit, which I have rejected; I don't trust them at all.

    • contact groupon through their website, normally they will refund it

      • Has anyone ever received a refund from Groupon? They would only give me a credit and not a refund, and then only after I was exhausted with waiting and follow up emails.

        • When using my credit card to make a purchase on Groupon, I was charged a forex fee. I contacted them to get a refund for that fee, and they were only too happy to help. (They also suggested using PayPal in the future to avoid the forex fee.)
I was given two choices, either (1) immediately receive a credit to use on Groupon, or (2) send them a screenshot of the forex fee plus my bank account details to get the refund deposited into my account.
I opted for choice (2). It took a couple of weeks for the refund to come through, but all good.
They were surprisingly pleasant and communicative throughout the entire process.

        • credits are not too bad coz woolies giftcards are always on sale.

  • This is no reason to Neg the deal though. Downvoted.

It's not a bargain when you get ripped off by dodgy practices and products that don't actually work.

      • +2

Apple, Harvey Normans et al do dodgy tax avoidance practises as well.
        Should stop using them

        • +1

Defending your own property from being stolen is actually a virtue.
It's too bad the ideas of classical liberalism and solid property rights are frowned upon in this society. People here want a world where every man is dipping his hand into the other's pocket and whoever comes out on top wins. And of course defending your own property should obviously be illegal.

  • +1

    Nice post. Thanks OP.

  • Caltex Woolworths eGift cards are available again on the Groupon site. I just bought a $200 once for $161.50. Have the people who ordered theirs a few days ago received theirs yet?

    • Do you have a link? I can't find it!

EDIT: Just saw the expired comment.

  • disappointed :(…

    • Got the same message, appear to be expired

      • Saw a few people were having this issue (https://www.facebook.com/groupon.au/photos/a.226619870686868…) and they said to send them a PM on Facebook. I just messaged them so hopefully they can get the code to work.

        • According to the comments on their original post on facebook, the promotion ended midday today! Since when do promos end midday when the original email didn't say anything about a time, just that it would end on Friday 28th February (they even got the day wrong!).

  • Although, Cashback is currently not payable on Any Woolworths Group Gift Cards purchased through Groupon, I have 2 recent purchases pending, see below:

    23 Feb 2015 Groupon AUD 190.00 AUD $8.55
    22 Feb 2015 Groupon AUD 95.00 AUD $4.28

"Pending" - Let us know when it is "PAID" and in your bank account.

  • Has this expired early? Doesn't work for me today?

    • I used it before 2pm with groupon app.Try their app if you have.
