So about $53, is that cheap?
Not as chips
But these are memory chips!
Maybe he was referring to PS Vita Memory chips which are notoriously expensive

There's a similarly specced PNY one for $29.99US with what seemed to me to be the same shipping cost. Might also be worth a look. Specs I found said it gets 90MB/s read and up to 60MB/s write.
Not a bad price but my history with the Sony SD cards equates to 3/3 (including one of these 94mb/s cards in 16gb) breaking physically. It seen me the caseing is made from a very brittle plastic, I've never had this issue with the SanDisk/Toshiba/Samsung cards I use.
Your milage may vary but I won't be buying any more of the Sony cards
