I have been holding out for a DC 59 Animal . At current $524 at Cosco is already expensive for a handheld :)
they're all expensive for a handheld. even at $300.
I've had a DC44 for a couple of years and have recently decided that a $10 broom is just as easy and does a better job on our timber floors.
I probably won't buy another if mine dies.
My DC59 is my weapon of choice when dealing with spiders & cockroaches.. especially when they are high up the wall laughing at me, then they realise it's not so funny anymore.
do they die when they get sucked in to the dirt barrel? daddy long legs probably just disintegrate due to the vacuum force but how about the more gnarly and tougher looking white tails, black house spiders?
the last thing you want is for all of them laughing at you waiting to open the barrel to clean it up and then group jump you!
@blahoz: Spray some insecticide into the barrel, but not too much. Don't forget to rinse the filter afterwards.
I have dyson and black & decker dustbusters. I try to keep the dyson clean of insects. So I have been using the black n decker to suck up spiders high up and it does that fine. It's like magic.
i got dark timber floors and the dc45 i got for $299 is a godsend… specially for the stairs :)
Waiting for DC 59~
Cheapest DC59 Animal is at Beta Electrical for $500.00 but I am still waiting on those mid $300 deals. I always seem to miss out.
DC59 is an end of life product now. New model already out in the US. No name as yet (or may be called v6). So hopefully prices will drop soon. The Costco price is ridiculous.
If you're talking about the DC62, it's the 59 renamed for a different region … apparently.
Your own link pretty much says the DC59 is just rebranded as one of the "new" v6, and the "absolute" is not exactly an improvement.
Dyson rebranded its whole vacuum line. The Dyson DC59 Animal we reviewed previously is now called the Dyson v6. And the Dyson DC59 Motorhead is now either the Dyson v6 Motorhead or the Dyson v6 Animal, depending on the number of included attachments.
