DAMMIT! Just bought one and the bottom seal was tampered with. Opened it and the battery was missing!

  • Blackwood - SA had stock. I bought a Hydro 5 groomer, but cant find the spare cartridge. Anyone can confirm it comes with a spare?

    • Were there any with the sticker on them though?
When I was there, there was a hanger full of non-sticker ones.
      Foodland and has none.
Woolworths had one of one variety.
      I bought it.

      • Coles Blackwood has stock of both the Groomer and Power Select - bought one of the former this morning.

@chacha: I don't think it is supposed to come with a spate cartridge, just the one blade attached to the handle in the box.

        • Cheers mate grabbed the last two groomers.

  • Got one from Woolies Eastlakes NSW
still got some left, apparently a slow moving stock,

  • -3

Dumb me, bought one without the sticker unique code, if anyone has a spare could you kindly P.M me and i'll try and find one at a shop otherwise

    • +1

      just return it?

      • yeah will if nothing going here

        • Turn your PM on

        • @imissbeans: done I didn't know you had to on this forus. Sorry

  • Thanks OP!

  • Weird how they are 30% off at coles and they have a 100% cashback! More claims can be accepted then I guess..

  • Has anyone hear from them in relation to cashback?

    • Been three days since I applied. No confirmation yet

    • +2

Yes, 2 hours ago, spam folder
      http://i.imgur.com/MagF6P7.jpg

    • nothing for me yet. be patient

      • +1

        I applied 5 days ago :(

  • Damn I accidentally bought 2 on the same receipt !

Wonder if it will make a difference ? was hoping to claim it from two separate addresses

    • -1

Well that's a bit of a give away! Return, refund, repurchase. You get 100% refund anyway.

  • Still can't find a specially marked pack! :(

    • +1

Did you ask if they had new stock out the back as I suggested, or check behind old stock as someone else found?

      • Actually not yet, but I will thanks for the tip!

  • +3

Check your spam folder (I'm using Gmail): email from Schick saying verification was successful and requesting bank details for refund deposit. Unusual huh?
    http://i.imgur.com/MagF6P7.jpg

edit: I would agree it looks a bit suss but it is sent from the same email as listed on the promotion page.

    • Same email received here. Quite weird as it should be refunded via paypal ir cheque, and they already have all the details to do so, from the claim application done before…

  • It seems you need to have the code from the sticker on the back to make the claim so no sticker means no claim from what I can see so I think I will just have to do a return to Woolies.

  • Heaps @ Chatswood Chase Coles this afternoon with promo stickers

  • i should have got the power blade :( the groomer seems pretty useless to me.

    • You may be saying the opposite if you'd chosen that one instead, based on review.
Schick Hydro Power 5 Select Tested: Do You Need A Vibrating Razor?
the vibrating didn’t seem to have any impact on the actual shaving experience. Whether I was using one of the three speeds or leaving it switched off, I just couldn’t see or feel any difference. So I ended up thinking of it as a novelty, not a useful enhancement.

The Groomer does also vibrate, but is extremely ineffective when shaving. The grooming end is certainly less useful than a $2 Remington Grooming set I picked up ages ago at DS. (Only 1 length cutting guide, no attachments) I won't buy again.

I have used a single speed vibrating Remington blade shaved - liked it, seemed to improved shave slightly, but sounded like a vibrator.

Always could buy one for a different address & compare the 2 ;-)
(I got the groomer, because it was more expensive.)

      Any product reviews from OzBargainers?

      • +1

I got a power blade, useless vibration function.
I still prefer my Gillete Mach 3, simple & useful.

        • +1

That's all you really need in a shaver - it works, simple & useful. These seem like gimmicks. Lucky they are free.

      • With both models there are three speed settings so maybe low speed vibration is ineffective for some

        • Have you used these?
Lifehacker Review of Power Blade above said all 3 vibration settings were useless for shaving.

My Groomer has only 1 speed (but now realise trim comb has 3 length settings).

How does your Groomer operate on 3 speeds? Box only states on/off. Pressing button only switches on/off. Schick site doesn't mention it, unlike for the 3 speed Power Blade.

Groomer does have 2 switch positions: pressing the trimmer switch lightly is good for short bursts, clicking fully down on the same switch towards the razor end keeps the cutters running until you click off.

        • Sorry my correction. I misread the info. I have both but have only used the Power Select.

Yes, it's the Power Select that has the three speeds and the Groomer has three length settings. Goes to show with all the marketing how the basic feature set can be unclear for comparisons.

        • @daydream:
No worries, I thought mine may be lacking the features;-)

      • how do you adjust the comb length? it is way to long to do anything useful

        • Instructions on back of pack. Shows from 0 to 4. But I can only increase comb length from too long to longer, or remove altogether. I gave up, as I don't need it & it's pretty useless set so long.

    • +1

Either one is unlikely to rock anyone's world. I just stored away the Energizer Lithium AAA battery $12 for 2 @DS & use as bulky manual razor. It's not as if I will be buying blades for these.

  • I have filled out the online claim form and after clicking submit it says 'Invalid Code.' for the Unique Code Number (The code at the back of the sticker. Tried a few times and keeps coming up with invalid code.

    • +1

Check numbers vs letters. Often they can look similar. Can be annoying when they don't make them clear…

      • Thanks, it has now worked. The sticker code clearly looks like the number zero but i tried the letter O and it worked. Cheers

  • i just received an email asking for my bank account details. i selected payment by paypal. seems dodgy. this is no form to fill out. or are you supposed to reply as an email?

    • Others reporting same email. Payment uses PayPal to transfer funds to your bank account. It is not a payment to your PayPal account, so bank account details will be requested.

I've asked for a cheque - takes longer, but I didn't want to give out bank details. Also I've got hit with bank fees for Microsoft Cashback deposits to my account before - should be no issue here with PayPal.

      • damn I thought choosing paypal would mean that the money goes into my paypal account, which is why I opted for cheque.
Hit with MS cashback? Why? I just got a cashback from MS in full amount.

        • how long did the ms cashback take to process?

        • It was the transfer process used by MS Cashback in 2012. I alerted them about issue then with some banks (eg Suncorp). They refunded fees to all affected & should have changed their system. But most Cashback warn fees are our responsibility.

I'm waiting on latest MS Cashback - will contact them before payout to ensure no fees.

        • @mattgal: 1.5 month for $0 headset after cashback (my own experience)

        • @brucefromaustralia: not sure about that. I have no problem with CBA.

        • I have no problem with CBA.. Full amount cashback, but what's the reason for bank fees??

Btw, I received my latest MS Cashback already few days ago

    • i got the same email today - very strange too, no form? I assume we need to reply back - annoying as I had hoped they had my Paypal email, that it should all be fine…

      • i finally decided to reply back and typed in my details in to the form. very confusing.

the two payment options were "cheque" and "bank transfer (by paypal)". i chose the latter so i assume they want to do a bank transfer rather than paypal.

just received an email today from Schick

"Thank you for purchasing a Schick Hydro product.

Unfortunately your claim has not been approved as it does not adhere to the Terms & Conditions which state that claims are redistricted to One ( 1 ) claim per person and household.

If you have any questions regarding your claim, please contact us on [email protected].

    Regards,
    Schick Hydro Support Team"

I'm sure I am the only person who has claimed for it, but I've claimed another one under different address.

Anyone received the same email ?

    • Very interesting!

Did you claim twice under same name, or email address? (1/person is covered by 1/household restriction I guess)

Can't see how they would link the two otherwise if for very different addresses (did you claim twice under same or similar residential address, mailing address?). Or did some one else claim at your other address? (1/address = household)

      Were both refused?

I'm sure a few here would like to know the reason.

If unused, could return for refund.

      • +1

same name but different email and addresses.

pretty sure i m the only person claim at my place

can the same person claim twice in different addresses?

        thank you

        • That's interesting that they matched you! Could it be that the purchases were made consecutively ie you bought another one immediately after the first and they checked the receipt no and time of purchase?

        • I feel sorry for you, but your email says one claim / person & household.
so I assumed is because of the same name?

        • @imissbeans:

          i think so.. sad

        • @garylo59:
Sad for you, but a few here have learnt from your experience I guess.

For Cashback deals, I usually make sure I claim under other family members names (or slight variation of my name, like initial rather than name; or middle name on 1 & first name on other), use their bank account, slightly altered address, etc.

But 1 per household makes it more difficult. As you used your same name twice, and are therefore from same household group as yourself - even when at different address, they've got you there :-(

I've only bothered with 1 claim as I'm not that impressed with the gimmick nature of adding a vibrator to my razor! I certainly won't bother now.

        • @brucefromaustralia: i can only see one per household, cant see one per person in the T&C

        • @garylo59:
          I only saw that too.
          9. Only one (1) claim or entry permitted per household.

Can a member of 1 household at 1 residential address also be a member of another household at another residential address at the same time? Quite possible, as in the case of children of separated parents. But they are still a member of the first household, while at the second household.

Since you are claiming twice under same name, I think that will be 2 claims for same household membership as you are also a member of the original household when claiming the second household & address. That breaches T&C 9. Complex.

          11. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of claims/entries and claimants/entrants (including a claimant’s/entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions

Good luck proving you are a member of 2 households at 2 different residential addresses at same time, but the second you is not also a member of the first household, resulting in 2 claims for that household. If you can, contact them for your cash. You may be in line for a Nobel prize as well ;-)

The use of another family member's name at different address would have probably worked. It's always best to make it as easy as possible for them to give you money ;-)

Unfortunately they have the final say :-(
          13. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Of course I could be completely wrong.

        • @brucefromaustralia: thanks, will try to contact them

        • +1

          @garylo59:
Gave $10 Go Catch referral to you ;-) Hope that brightens your night.

        • @brucefromaustralia: thanks man.. but I cant see the $10.. weird

        • @garylo59:
You will get your credit after I take my first trip - don't hold your breath waiting ;-)

  • +1

man. I got nothing from these guys. 1 week already…

    • +3

Me neither, though only been 5 days
I'm keeping the item in original packaging until I receive my email for cash back
      Otherwise returning it to Coles

  • -1

Does anyone know if you are able to peel and swap the stickers between the products available for cash back? Or will the code on the sticker for the groomer only match the groomer for example and not the other products?

    • Dodgy act that

      • -2

How so? No one is getting ripped off?

        • Except the next person who now has the wrong sticker.
Just explain it all to the guard after they arrest you for tampering with the products.

        • @King Tightarse: That's why I asked. Someone said a Schick representative at woolies was giving out stickers after people grabbed the eligible ones off the shelf, I doubt he had stickers specific for each product.

The next person wouldn't have the wrong sticker because the sticker would be gone. It would now be on the product that previously didn't have the sticker. The only person getting stung would be the person who swapped the sticker over, that is if the sticker was actually specific for each type of razor.

        • @MemE: The person who would buy the product with the stcker with the used code will be ripped off as he won't be able to claim it

        • @bob19: Sigh… do you even read? I'll make it simple.

There are 10 packs of hydro 3 razors with a sticker on each and a bunch of hydro 5 razors with no stickers. You take the sticker off one of the hydro 3 razors and place it on a hydro 5 razor. The hydro 3 razor you took the sticker off now has no sticker on it, you leave this razor in the store and it is no longer a specially marked pack for cashback. No one who wants the cashback will purchase this razor as there are 9 others that are specially marked that they can chose from.

Now you purchase the hydro 5 razor, which now has the sticker, go home and claim the cashback using the code on the sticker.

I'm still yet to hear how it is a dodgy act…

        • @MemE:
YOU ARE TAMPERING WITH THE PRODUCTS FOR YOUR OWN GAIN - it is 100% dodgy. If you cant see that YOU are dodgy by nature.

  • I received an email this week confirming my claim had been verified and to allow up to 28 days to receive my cheque.

    • same email received

  • hi .. can anyone tell me where /when they are asking your bank details. its just have the option Cheque/ bank transfer (via Paypal) Is it asking for your account and BSB number anywhere? did anyone get cash back so far or not ?thanks

  • I accidentally bought old stock from Safeway ( without unique code) and returned & bought new stock with unique sticker…. Does anybody know how long it takes to get cash back? Also if someone don't have PayPal account? But it mentioned you don't need PayPal account. ?? Had anybody received the cash back so far ? Thanks !

    • +2

      2 posts up

I received an email this week confirming my claim had been verified and to allow up to 28 days to receive my cheque.

Rather than spamming the question, just read

      • Ok , thanks for letting me know.. I asking it again again as I want to know it how long maximum time it takes . And in the event If i not get $ back so I can refund it as longer I keep the razor more difficult to return the razor back.. Moreover I alreday have to many razors which I bought on special & on half price previously. Anyway thanks again :

        • +1

Try to stop worrying so much! It's not good for your health! :) It's Woolies or Coles, they will give you a refund!

        • @imissbeans: You right. ): I ll not now

  • Coles Adelaide still had lots of the regular hydro as of yesterday if that helps

  • can anyone tell me please How long it takes to get cash back??? they sent me mail yesterday that they will verified my details

  • Lodged my claim on 19 Feb, early morning. Got an email that they will verify the claim and contact me. Haven't received anything else from them so far…
I sent them an email. No reply either.

    • Same here I received the email that they ll confirm my details. It was 3 days ago. Still waiting for hear back from them..

    • Two more days passed (7 in total) and I am yet to hear from them. They don't even bother to reply to my e-mail that I sent to their "support".

  • I submitted my claim on the evening of 20 February and received confirmation that it has been approved just now 25 February, so 5 days in total. I asked for a cheque to be posted out to me. The actual process seemed pretty easy.

  • I applied on 14 and no cashback yet…

  • Stock available at Gordon Woolworths NSW

  • I got an email confirmation that my claim has been verified, only 2 days after I submitted. Sounds like the process is inconsistent since others have been waiting way longer. Hopefully they get to them soon :-)

  • Still no sign of acceptance. Submitted on 15/02

    • Have you checked your spam folder

    • for me, emails came from [email protected], so white-list that email address or domain

    • +1

Im not sure why my cashback was applied for 5 days after yours (20 Feb) and processed before yours. Did you get a cheque or direct bank transfer. Could it be that those that requested cheques were processed faster?

      • i did paypal. checked spam but nothing. no money in paypal

        • +1

Again if you just read the promo or comments here, it is not going to your PayPal account. They ask you for your bank details to pay into. They just use PayPal to pay your bank account.

        • @brucefromaustralia: thanks but like i said before, they haven't contacted me again since the auto email when i submitted the form…

  • +4

Got my cashback via electronic fund transfer from "CBA Schick Redemption", dated 27/2. (Claim submitted 14/2, verified 20/2, banking detail transmitted 23/2.)

    • Same here :)
