Sandra Chevrier Unsigned Edition Artwork $24.73 Delivered @ Papirmass.com

90

Ok, so you don't know who Sandra Chevrier is. That's ok! However, she's an international artist and has quite a following. She does some amazing artwork and I recommend you check out her work http://www.sandrachevrier.com/

Anyway, her signed and numbered prints generally go for around $600 and her originals go for MUCH higher. They always sell out super fast. At the moment, a company by the name of Papirmass have worked with the artist and created an unnumbered and unsigned print of one of Sandra's latest pieces. Basically, this is a lovely piece that you can grab, chuck in a cheap Ikea frame and have the same look as an expensive piece of artwork on your wall at home. Just don't expect the price of these to rise as they're an open edition.

Art is subjective, so I hope you like it and it could be a nice decorative piece at home.

A real ozBargainer would just take a screenshot of it and print it out and put it in a frame to hang on their wall.

    • You could also do that! But the point of this is that it's coming from someone authorised to distribute a print.

  • This looks like the normal price, no way is it worth $600, it's only a print…

It's ok that you don't understand art.

        It's ok that you don't understand a bargain…

        • It's ok you don't understand english. Signed and numbered prints are worth $600, not this one.

It's ok you don't understand bargains either.

Since this isn't Signed and numbered, it's selling at it's normal price for $25 for a piece of printed paper, and it's not a bargain..

It's ok that you don't understand that you were the only one who implied that it was worth $600.

So what is it worth ?

So what is it worth ?

Whatever someone is willing to pay - but I doubt you would understand that.

Knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing.

yes, I can see from the deal votes how 'valuable' this is… </sarcasm>

I agree. Unless this is on sale or is cheaper than other equivalent prints then this isn't a deal. The OP seems to know something about the artist, but mentioning the original and signed prices is irrelevant and looks like an attempt to add value to these prints which to any collector would be worth nothing. You could probably buy a $10 print of the Mona Lisa too but it wouldn't be a bargain in and of itself just because the original is priceless.

Now if it just so happens that $24.73 is a good price to get a print delivered then that's another matter, but arguing that people don't 'understand art' isn't the way to sell the perception that this replication is a deal.

I am happy to send a print of a $100 note as payment, you can keep the change

    • send a print of a $100

maybe the print would be worth a lot more (since it's 'art'), and you'd also get back even more change…

    • Sign it. Then it will be worth more, apparently.

not bad money if you can get $575 just for signing your name…

  • Nice :) thanks for sharing

My mother is planning to get us a Sandra Chevrier for our 10th wedding anniversary. My understanding is that she's quite a legitimate artist and has achieved a certain following abroad.

Its either going to be the "La cage rien est impossible" (translation: the cage nothing is impossible) , because the woman in the painting looks like my wife (she's only met my wife once) or the "La Cage qui na pas encore appris a vivre sans lui" (The cage who hasn't yet learned how to live without him), which is probably a dig at me.

Any idea how much they cost? If she does send us a wedding anniversary gift, I was going to auction it and donate the money to charity. Obviously if its only worth $10, I would just give it to someone.

It definitely will be worth more than $10. Please…do not just give it away. If you are genuinely going to be selling it, please contact me.
It will depend if it's an original or a signed and numbered print. Generally, a print of hers will go for around $600-$900(AUD). An original work of hers will go for a few thousand, if it has provenance

      • Thanks Pollywaffle :)

Edit: if she lets us choose out of the two, do you have a preference?

        • +1

In my personal opinion, "La cage, rien nest impossible" is my favourite. However, it is also the cheapest (actually, it was pretty much her cheapest print release, at about $200AUD).
If I were you, I'd speak to my wife and figure the best course of action. Find another artist you like and perhaps let her know you prefer another piece by a different artist. It's be nice to get an anniversary present you want, instead of selling it at a loss.

        • +1

@Pollywaffle: I've a complicated relationship with my mother. She's seen me less than a dozen times since I was 4. I'm 32 now. I wld be happy for her to come and spend some time with us; meet her grand kids for the first time. But she won't. Instead she's trying to buy my love by showering us with unwanted gifts. I've either given them away or sold and donated the money.
Btw,thank you for your honesty n advice. Much appreciated :-)

        • +2

@Jar Jar Binks: Sorry to hear that, mate. Definitely sounds complicated. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any further questions or unsure about anything art related. Always happy to help.

It definitely will be worth more than $10.

How do you know? It may be an unnumbered and unsigned print, just like your post…
Maybe their mum is even buying it from the the same place…

        • +2

Seeing as there's no open editions of the artwork he mentioned, it wouldn't be.

  • If anyone wants a cheaper copy of this, just take this to Officeworks tomorrow and get it printed and laminated for $2…

unnumbered, unsigned and A4, just like the one in the link for $25

    • If someone wants to breach the Copyright Act - ^^^this.

        Why ?

It's from the link from the website posted by the OP, and they sent it to my PC…

    • Haha, classic.

  • Is OP a rep or affiliate ?

Neither. Just an art collector. Saw this and figured I'd pass it on.
