Been scouring Ozbargain for credit card deals, but haven't really found anything.
Are there any good fee free deals at the moment for an awards card?
Trying to track something down for my sister. I have the Citibank Signature myself, but it looks like that deal has gone.
There is also the Qantas Discovery card from AMEX… no annual fee ever and $1/FF point.
Downside is, it is an AMEX so it may not be accepted everywhere.
Another downside to AMEX is the possibility of being slugged with a surcharge at the POS. Large retailers rarely hit you with this surcharge but a recent visit to a Woolworths petrol station in Perth may be changing this perception.
Are they suppose to tell you before charging you the surcharge? I know the smaller retailers do, but I've never had it at Coles Express when I fuel up.
@ProjectZero: Yes, the service attendant did advise me. I changed over to my Visa. It's just that I've never previously seen retailers, like Woolworths, charging the surcharge.
platinum or signature?
Coles Zero Annual Fee Mastercard, has price protection insurance (just pay before statement issue date, though the insurance pays off, might as well get the Rewards one which earns points four times faster). Also 18months interest free bt at the moment.

so you have to spend $40,000 to get back $100? That hardly seems good value
It all depends on the OPs situation ad what he needs. Have you seen the number of upvotes on the Coles MC deal?
Considering, it's a fee free card with account cover plus protection it's worth it in my situations, I've got their rewards card ($49 annual fee) it's my secondary card and only put major purchases that I want insurances on to claim.
So effectively if OP spends more than $5000 PA then the rewards card would be more useful.
