Thought I'd revive 2 old posts for the benefit of those that aren't aware of them. 4GB isn't much, but hey, it's free. Once you've claimed the bonus, apps can be deleted without losing the additional storage.

    I tried to take advantage of this last time….but it didn't work…I only got the standard storage nto the extra as well.

      Cheers. I just created a 'fake' account via the Carousel app. Gives you 2GB on signup. Trick is to then select a photo and attempt to add it to the cloud. It won't let you until you verify your email address. Tap the verify button, and you'll receive an email. Click the email link, check back in your settings, and you should have 5GB storage. Delete the app, and retain the freebie.

        So what about the account that I currently have fromt he last attempt?

        Do I need to lose that or can I somehow get the extra 3 gb into it?

          If you haven't already received the extra 3GB, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to claim it now. But you can only claim it once.

    So not sure why we need a new post to remind people that cannot use the website to do a basic search.

    I installed Carousel Version 1.8 using my DropBox account and my storage space went up from 4GB to 55.2GB! 56.25GB after installing Mailbox, found out why it's because of Samsung! Thanks Samsung.. Samsung + Dropbox Samsung promotion (expires 16/1/2017) 7 mins ago 48 GB

    I installed both and got the extra space.

    Deleted the Mailbox app due to all the negative reviews on the App Store.

    Depending on how the Carousel app goes will determine the same.

    I still can't believe they'd give you extra space and let you keep it even though you delete the app. Surely they know this or they figure that most people won't care.

      Not everyone install and delete the app straight away. I actually think carousel is pretty snazzy. Without this promo I would have never bothered installing it to try. It's like when Coles offering half price on ice cream. It's call loss leader pricing.

    Best way I've seen to get extra Dropbox space was to take advantage of the referral bonuses as there are many people selling this service online for only a few dollars. I've got 25.8GB for life via referrals and a few of the upload photos/link apps offers.

    I used this guide to max out my referral bonuses (16 gb) for free.

    Yes I could have paid for a service that will do the same thing but it only took me a little over an hour to do it…whilst refreshing Ozbargain in the background…

    it says that the Samsung promotion (expires 17/8/2015) so what will happen on the 48gb that you have used up? will it just disappear into thin air?
