Enter a circle of sound

You're engrossed in a cat-and-mouse thriller. A sudden movement over your shoulder startles the character onscreen who dashes toward you in pursuit, disappearing as the sound of footsteps trail off behind you. You're "in" the movie, and your entire living room becomes the set.

Welcome to Bose® surround sound, brought to you by five redesigned Direct/Reflecting® speakers. The precisely angled transducers inside deliver sound you'd expect from speakers many times their size.

Penetrating bass

The wireless module adds dramatic low notes to your entertainment—without adding a wired connection from the module to the speakers or console. With a signal range of 9m, you can place it pretty much anywhere in the room. Even if hidden from view, you’ll notice the extra level of realism it provides, from a throbbing bass guitar to a thunderstorm you can actually feel.

Sound designed for your room

Wood floors, plush rugs, unique room dimensions. Believe it or not, they can all affect sound. That’s where the ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system comes in. It adjusts the speaker’s performance to the acoustics of your room, so you don’t have to change a thing. Once you've placed your speaker, just run the ADAPTiQ system and enjoy consistent performance throughout the room from then on.

One remote. Universal control.

The universal remote is likely the only remote you'll need for all your sources—TV, Blu-ray Disc™ player, cable box and more. It's easy to program, easy to use and reduces remote clutter.

Streaming music with SoundTouch™

Another great feature you can enjoy with the CineMate 520 system? Streaming music over your Wi-Fi® network. With an optional Wi-Fi adapter, you can discover and enjoy music more effortlessly than ever before. Wirelessly stream 20,000 Internet radio stations from around the world, songs and playlists from a personal music library, and popular music services like Deezer® and Spotify®. It’s all available via your home Wi-Fi network. The system also works with other SoundTouch™ systems to create a multi-room listening experience. In party mode, these systems work together as one to play music everywhere. Stream different music in different rooms, play the same music in every room or create customised zones.

While I will stand behind Bose and their active noise cancelling headphones because they are the best at actively cancelling noise, their sound production is average and this home cinema/audio stuff is just horrid.
Sure audio is very personal,, and if your ears like the sound, then good for you. But physics can’t be ignored, and these satellite systems are just not capable of producing a good full sound range.
If you don’t have the space, then sure consider them, but if you have some space then consider proper bookshelf speakers and a sub.
Do yourself a favour, go to any of these stores first and listen to some speakers, and you will realise what turgid crap these Bose systems are (according to mine and many other ears).
If you like them, then I can get stuffed, and you can enjoy your listening experience; but please listen to some speakers first.

  • Another bose hater, i have both bose and paradigm studio's set, for me bose sounds okay, i like the sound

    • No, not a Bose hater, read it again. I own some Bose headphones (two sets of QC20s) and think they are brilliant for what they are designed to do. Their sound production is very average though.
I dislike the home audio but look at what I said, if you like them, I can get stuffed, audio is very personal.
I am amazed that as someone who has Paradigm Studio’s that you still find the Bose system remotely okay. They are so far apart in performance and range it dumbfounded me when I heard them. I only have the Paradigm Monitors (Titans) fronts and Millennium centre, so a step down from yours, but their sound is in another league compared to the Bose systems. Again, you can’t get passed the laws of physics, these small satellite systems just can’t do all they claim. This is exactly why Paradigm and their Cinema and Millenia series are larger than the Bose.
These Bose systems suit a purpose ( self-contained and a small amount of room), but you should listen to alternatives first, always.

      • You only need a full range speaker if you are a 2 channel listener or watching ht without a sub, if you have a sub, your sub drivers in the fronts are not getting used, only the tweeter and midrange.

I like bose for what they are, yes they are small, but they sound good for surround ht, like the way they mute some sounds and produce the direct reflective sound, i have the bose speakers connected to a pioneer amp in my living room, i like the surround effect, its not as grumpy as paradigm which is in my HT.

Again the point is bose cubes are designed for small rooms, not for big HT. They may not produce all the tones in the tracks but the sound come from it is more than enough to satisfy a normal person.

Big is not always great so no law of physics applied on this case. Eg electro static speakers, or a 15" sub25 produce 7500w peak from 10amp circuit when many other 15" or even bigger subs are not even half of it.

I like by bose cubes as much as i like my paradigms, whether i use the bose in my HT? No. But for some people its more than enough.

        Thanks
