Not a bad deal (although COTD is cheaper) given the lack of post xmas bargains.

If COTD sells 32GB for $499+p/h which you have acknowledged, how is this a bargain?

I am genuinely curious, that's all.

    • I acknowledge COTD is probably better (especially at the moment with their $10 member discount), but this is another option… that's all.

      • I am not negging because I am not sure whether COTD is grey import or not (since I personally see them as two different product), but the site is all about getting the best price. That was why I was asking.

        Better luck next time :)

  • Australian stock vs grey import?

    • Yeah, that might explain… I am guessing COTD is grey import, is it?

    • Looks like this is grey import also. Under the 'warranty information' it advises its a 1 year warranty only……local products come with 2 years

      • Yeah, that's what I thought. Isn't it like by law? Though I am slightly curious on what they mean by 12 Month Manufacturer Warranty… Because if it is not a grey import, it should have 24 months. If it is a grey import, why are they offering 12 months warranty?

        2 Year warranty for local?
Like to know who's offering that?
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" 16GB 4G Wi-Fi model from Dick Smith @ Parramatta & factory warranty is only 1 year with extended warranty being optional but at a cost $$
Somehow I don't think Dickie would be selling grey imports, after all they are one of Samsung's main distributors.
Check the DSE website and click on the 'Specs' tab which clearly stipulates '1yr Warranty'…..

        Check the Samsung website…..

          Warranty Period
          2 Years

          Special Conditions
This warranty period does not apply to batteries and accessories which are dealt with exclusively under Part II, paragraph I(B)

        • Warranty period is for 12 months from the period of purchase whether its in the box or out of the box as per Table 1.

You don't get 12 months in the box plus 12 months out of the box = 2 years. How do they know that you had it in the box for 12 months……& its not likely you would?

'However, you may also have statutory rights outside of these periods'

This is as clear as mud but refers to if you have purchased an extended warranty of up to 2 years (which is max.) & this relates to the 2 years in Table 2.

        • @Drewski181: Could you please tell me what table 1 it is?
I quoted the warranty information page that states that warranty period for tablets are 2 years. I think you are referring to the accessaries.

          Also quoting then website:

In all cases the commencement date for the period is the actual day of purchase, as reflected on the Authorised-Reseller's or Distributor’s invoice / receipt provided to you.

This information correlates with the handout for warranty

        • May need more clarification thru a Samsung Rep?

  • I believe so

I think COTD is local stock. I got one few week ago (awesome), it came with a local Samsung plug & a Samsung Australia branded Mobile Muster (mobile phone recycling program) free post bag.

      • Just don't get the refurbished one. I got one and it arrived a couple of days after Xmas and was DOA. Very disappointed.

  • This is also a good deal:

if you want a 4G/LTE version

  • Costco has the same price (for members only, obviously).

The HP slatebook x2 for $200 is better value.

  • CTOD - "12 Month Manufacturer Warranty."

SE - "1 Year Manufacture Warranty"

    Samsung AU Warranty -

Samsung Au warranty for Tab S is 24 months. Correct warranty link was listed in earlier ozbargain deal on same item.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/173530

  • So basically this isn't a bargain, as you can get a 32gtb model (vs 16Gb model here) for around the same price.
    Good try anyway Op.

Oh the COTD one ships from Melbourne & GST is included, so that along with my comments above would strongly indicate it's local Samsung Oz stock.

  • I bought the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 at Binglee last year, and it had only one year warrenty.

  • anyone have any issue with tab s 4g not showing lte/wcdma/cdma option on network connections? apparently I dont have option on my tab s, purchased the tab from dse.
