They have increased the price $6 from a few days ago haven't they?

    • No idea. Just received an email from them at this price.

        • Thanks. Had no idea it was there :(

        • Wow. Why didn't he make a post. A lot of people missed out. And dodgy of PLE to raise the prices

          @jaero115:

Because I didn't feel the need to take the thunder from the OP :)

@Spackbace: it's not about fame, about sharing deals with the community lol

        • @jaero115:

Which I did, those that read the thread, knew about the deals :) no one missed out that didn't want to find out :)

        • @Spackbace: a good 35 people upvoted it. But a deal at that price easily 700 upvotes. If not 2 times more. A lot of people wanted to find out but not everyone reads comments on here. It happens all the time on here, people post very good deals within a broader deal. It's ok though, that's life.

    • Yes, was $30 the other day. Was still cheaper for me to buy local though, considering shipping.

      • …revoked…

      • ditto

bought one local for cheaper than their $30 + shipping

are people buying more just because it comes out to $20 or so per controller after cashback?

    • Yep got it for $30 few days ago!

  • +4

Shipping is not free if you are not in melbourne for pickup

    • Yep after cashback it'll cost me $30.

  • Bit dodge to add $6 but oh well…got one pick up in Melb. Thanks OP

    • Well considering the massive rush they'd have had with people ordering these due to the cashback and PLE selling out and having to order more, it's not that hard to believe that the wholesale price has gone up since the AU$ has crashed as these would be ordered from OS.

Something the media don't seem to like reporting on is how most things go up when the AU$ goes down, but it's easier for them to just report how petrol is going down yet everything else is going up, just a lot more on the sly ;-)

      • Yes maybe but it's a 20% price jump on increased order/sale volume…

I've been binge-buying to beat the impending price hikes due to the weak AUD :-/ lol

        • Still doesn't mean the wholesales aren't increasing their prices because of the promotion as well. I put nothing past the 'middle man' in this country :-)

All depends on when they last out an order in, if it was when the AU$ was near parity and it's now down around $0.81c, then a 20% rise seems about right. None of us know what their wholesale price is though from then and now

      • Does it also work the other way? Like when the AUD goes up, will aussie retailers cut their prices?

    • +3

40% cash back from RRP means just that. Read the T&C. It clearly states the RRP for each product and the amount of cash back you will get, regardless of purchase price.

    • +1

This is the exact reason why we don't need 10 different deals for the same promotion! This has been dealt with more times than I want to count in the actual deal post.

      • Ha, learn to reds.

  • Time to buy-up!

I cheaped-out, and bought the wired version a few years ago. Still was like $50!

Well… also, people advised to avoid running so many wireless devices.

Whilst I've always considered myself a keyboard and mouse guy for PC gaming, the XBOX360 controller is absolutely awesome for a lot of games. Probably the only ones I don't use it for now are strategy and shooters.

It is $37 pickup from Umart - hope it helps those live in Brisbane/Sydney/goldcoast/Sunshine coast, it may be eligible for cashback too.

    http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id…

    • +1

It is eligible. Got mine from there.

  • It states participating retailers: is there a list? I could only see big chains on msft site…

  • Does anyone reckon I have any chance price matching at EB. The relos surprised me with some gift cards.

  • Thanks for bringing into my attention this cash back, I have been thinking about getting the controller for a while. Since PLE delivery is around $11 for me, I have found the same controller for $39 with Free Delivery from Kogan.

    • You do know that Kogan isn't part of the cashback offer, don't you?

      • Now this is why I love ozbargain:) thank you so much mate, I have read the main page but never clicked on T&C.. I just canceled my order with Kogan via online chat and ordered from here instead http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/Xbox-360…

Fast delivery is promised, similar price to PLE though.

        • +1

Haha oh phew, luckily you could cancel it! Was worried you'd get it then realise you couldn't claim for it so would charge you more :-)

See this is why the main deal should have been the only deal for this, that one has the full list of participating retailers!

  • Terms and Conditions:
Participating stores for the offer are Harvey Norman, Domayne, Joyce Mayne, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Dick Smith, Officeworks, Bing Lee, Big W,EB Games, MSY Technology Pty Ltd, Officemax Australia Ltd, Centre Com Sunshine Pty Ltd, Computer Alliance, Austin Computers, Leading Edge Group Ltd, PLE Computers, Umart Online.

    • Umart Online

Do you have to buy through their online site or can you walk in and buy it there? Or is Umart Online just the name of their store?

  • so umart is best for nsw? Should update the OP if so

  • Thanks OP, just ordered mine from umart :)

  • Back in stock.

  • Can anyone explain to me how MS can claim it is 40% cashback off RRP of $49.99, and then charge $59.99 for it??

    • Recommended retail price. Price is set by the retailer.

      • But MS are both the manufacturer and a retailer in this case. They can hardly claim their RRP (as manufacturer) is $49.95, when both they and almost all retailers sell it for $59.95 (at least as the "normal" price).

As far as I can see every other item on the list is for sale in the Microsoft store for the same price as the RRP listed on the cashback promotion page, so why is this item listed for $10 more than that RRP (or alternately the cashback not 40% of the real price).

        • Ask MS that, not me ;) I'm just relaying what they state.

        • Haha I did actually - online chat says they are just there to sell stuff, not set prices.
