What insane prices these are. And full kudos to theearth for finding this deal over at Buckscoop. There's a stack of other goodies on special, but I reckon these are the best of them. Starts Boxing Day.

I think you should have left your comment as "That's insane." ;)
They have to be losing money on this
That's insane.
Well, they normally have limited stock for items on specials. it is more a clearance sale for Centrecom.
Why? Do you really think they'd be selling it if it meant they lost money by doing so?
http://au.alibaba.com/products/wd-my-passport-ultra-2tb-port…
I didn't match the item exactly but probably can if curious.
Cost price is US$30 each if you buy 500 units.
Freight?
pickup instore for free
too bad, I live in Sydney. :(
it'll show you postage costs at the checkout, it varies by item…
WD 2.5" 2TB Passport Ultra for $119? Deal or no deal?
anyone know the shipping costs?
That arc mouse is interesting .. is it included in the cashback promo from MS i wonder?
I could only find the newer model on the cashback site
centrecom is not a participating retailer.
It is, actually.
Ooh you're right. My bad.
Actually it says Centre Com Sunshine Pty Ltd, not sure if that means only the Sunshine store, or all stores.
What's with the
"Apple Store coming soon"
sign on the top of the link I wonder ???
A section of the website solely dedicated to apple products and peripherals I'm assuming
Touch explorer mouse $12, less $20 cash back = profit.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175625Looks like only the black version (SKU U5K-00017) is eligible for the cashback.
Touch explorer mouse $12, less $20 cash back = profit.
Not eligible unfortunately.
SKU is not on Microsoft's list of cashback items.
:(
I was going to check the SKU on the product page, but the images and text in the sale list don't link to a product page. If only I actually read the text under the image…
Truly insane prices!!!
Will be buying the 2TB 2.5" HDD
http://www.storagereview.com/2tb_western_digital_my_passport…
Please note that HD is not Standard SATA port.
Thanks .. not sure why the neg (perhaps you could have stated it more clearly) those that might want to remove the drive for another use would need to know this .. also if the drive fails then your kinda screwed for data recovery.
"this one integrates the USB 3.0 controller with the circuit board of the drive, allowing for fewer internal components and circuitry. It also prevents us from popping the drive outside of this enclosure and using it inside another device as a SATA notebook hard drive."
Very helpful :p
Thanks for the tip. Is the Segate Expansion 2tb SATA? $111 at JB at the moment….
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/accessories/seag…
Just went to OW and got them to price beat the JB price by 5%. No centre com near me so the best deal I could find.
Thanks TA, there's a store two minutes from me, at least I can avoid the Boxing Day crowds.
Merry Christmas TA!
Cheers clarky. All the best to you & yours as well :)
Ta TA,TB
TA, TB - TC (take care)
I wonder what the stock levels are.
1 of each.
and bought by their own employee
Wished the OP posted earlier. Needed SODIMM RAM so bought some already. Should have waited.
I know the feeling. I purchased a 66cm CRT TV 10 years ago for $3000. All these deals for 50" LCD's for $600 make me think I should have waited too.
1tb hitachi HDD seems the best deal
Hmmm, the last time I tried to get some things 'on sale', they didn't have any stock in store despite being the first one there. I suspect staff will 'put aside' a fair few things.
Bleh no GPU deals except for those two low tier cards.
Wouldn't be surprised if it disappeared soon or had unreasonably low stock. But lets see
Buckscoop reminds me of Reggie's Diner on Seinfeld.
Worlds are colliding!
Need 4 or 6 tb disks for qnap device, what's should I buy that performs well? Any advice appreciated.
Why didnt theearth post it here as well? please come back!! :)
You can find him on a bargain site . I forgot what the site was called.

You cannot take the ozb out of youas I always said:
kids on OzBargain doesn't take their responsibility for negative votes…..
the one who always vote negative, has never posted a bargain/deal on OzBargain!
What's the difference between "elements" and "my passport" when same rrp before special?
Both 2.5, both USB 3.0, WD?????What's the difference between "elements" and "my passport"
Get the elements. The other has software and firmware you can't delete, made it a hassle when I just wanted a drive to plug into the usb on the ps3.
Elements is just a portable drive with no junk, been using them for years with no problems.
Acer Iconia W510 a 10" IPS tablet for $299?? Went to do some research and it's a 2012 model running a substantially slower Atom with next to no GPU processing prowess. And 64 GB of space… don't think it will cut it for me.
Nice screen though.I must have been blinded over the past few months with so many OzB deals…but the 2TB WD portable HD is $119???
10th row down, middle box.
Cheers Santa Tightarse…now to go to my car to find $89 in coins (and some stale French fries)…lol
The 2TB I saw is much further down…
Merry Christmas! And it just goes to show that even on Christmas Day, some of us OzBargainers are still in here…lol
Note
-The model is on sale is a bit old model, which is not featured anymore on WD Site
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/external/portable/The new model is 'ultra ' which is bit more slimmer
Product Dimensions: Model No
WD My Passport 2TB 4.4 x 3.2 x 0.8 inches ; 8.2 ounces WDBY8L0020BBK-NESN
WD My Passport Ultra 2TB 0.8 x 3.2 x 4.4 inches ; 8 ounces WDBMWV0020BBK-NESNBut still its a great HDD for this price
- OzBargain, Pls add the feature to copy Photos and Excel sheets, so can explain much more easier
http://www.centrecom.com.au/western-digital-my-passport-2tb
http://www.centrecom.com.au/2tb-western-digital-25-my-passpo…Looks like a brick compared to the new one. I'll still try for the old one though.
You have the same dimensions for both except weight is 0.2 smaller. Same thickness, width, height.
Good- I don't want any of the improvements of the newer My Passports so I'll have a go at buying one or two of these- hopeless I know.
Should I get this one or Hitachi Touro Mobile 1TB for $69.
I want stability and reliability more than space. But if there is no much different will go with WD.
ThanksI have had zero problems with all my Wd portable drives. (but only use elements not passports)
Is the HDD good for a ps4?
Officeworks also selling the WD 2TB elements portable HDD for $119 if anyone wants to pick it up there
http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/wd-2tb-elemen…
It seems they don't have Pick up in store for online orders from their FAQ below……
At the current time Centre Com Online does NOT offer in-store pickup for online orders. If you would like to place an order for pickup, please contact your local store directly. http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/locations.php
These prices apply to on-line & in-store, as per the flyer, so your best bet is to rock up when the doors open and hope they have stock :)
Tempted but I've bought too many slims and ultras already from Amazon. I'm going to resist this time.
Hi everybody
This is an amazing bunch of deals, thanks oz poster!
I will be getting the Arc mouse for my surface
a 32gb SDHC card for my cameraand one more thing ( the one that struck me the most)
with the MAC ram, will that work with old versions of iMac?
I have a late 2008 model and want to get it up to 4gb with the
2GB Strontium 1333MHZ DDR3 SODIMM MAC MemoryDoes anybody know if this will work on my old girl? Thanks a heap and have a good break everyone
Answered my own question with a bit of surfing. It's DDR2 only. THey have different slots. What a pity…
Something is really wrong with the page, it keeps refreshing every three seconds…
Nope, must be your device not doing it on my pc.
$1.75 to use paypal! What the rort!
Warning: CentreCON sell used/ returned products at these 'insane' prices.
site crashing so much
uh, so now the 2tb is only available in store? lame
really ruined it, sydney guy here
Yep, i just want to buy when i saw this great deal but "in store only", thats discrimination to sydney ozbargainers …
5 minutes dragging through the "one page checkout" as it refreshed for each segment to finally be shown "Buying is disabled for this product;Out of stock;" as my card went to charge :(
That fizzled fast, will have to see in store later today to see if there's any stock.
Cost 7 bucks to ship. Can't pick up in store.
Deal broken there.
Website un responsive. Got in at dot 12 am and products out of stock at 12.03. Let us know if any ozbargainers got luck with the $89 HD or the arc mouse.
boxing day sell (http://www.centrecom.com.au/Sales/Category/95) for WD 4TB list as AUD175 but when click inside (http://www.centrecom.com.au/4tb-western-digital-elements-des…) it is AUD198. Similar 'error' apply to other WD ext hard drive. Is that a mistake or just a cheating?
What a flop, waited all day for 2tb and got a message to say instore only. Biggest joke of 2014
same here it sucks even with the $7 its in store pick up only
Lol all the good deals i.e 2TB and 1.5TB hard drives are in-store only…
Bet they have 1 unit of each in store
I managed to get 2 of the 1.5TB hdds for $75 ea
I could have gotten more if I used different delivery address and name.. they seemed to have a few in stock at the time.
but I decided to go have a shower instead and when I came back they were "instore only"Instore only, so sad because i'm Brizzie :(
I do not know what kind of quantity they allocate for these crazy sales. I am sure whatever quantity it is, it is not much. For a $10 32GB SDHC Memory card, shipping to NSW 2000 is $7.
Went and waited in the queue to get the 2TB HDD and was sorely disappointed. I was near the front of the queue and was told they were sold out. When I questioned one of the employees, he stated they only had 3 in stock to begin with. Seriously?? 3 in stock at that price? Is that a bait and switch or what?
They sold out for me too but then gave me the Ultra for $89
really? I asked about that and they refused…
Which store did you go to? I went to Clayton. I ended up getting the 1.5TB for $75, but I do feel a bit ripped off…Hawthorn
@shelle1080: hmm… they must be more reasonable there then… Glad at least one of us got a deal though!
oh ffs….
Some people whinged and complained about limited 2TB HDD on special and claimed the person who handed them the WD Elements 2TB drives told them they are $89 each (at Hawthorn store). They agreed to sell them the 2TB elements for $89 each.
Other people also benefited from that as a result (to be fair to everyone). I was surprised the whinging worked, but not complaining. I only managed to get one, and that was because someone didn't want it (thinking it is $119). However, you actually need to indicate that you won't buy the 2TB Elements drive at $119, and hopefully they will offer it to you for $89. If you don't ask, you will pay the $119.
Stock is very limited though. Most people do grab 2 of those.
