Since the last JB Hi Fi deal in early December, I have been waiting for the special to be repeated. Well, good news to all.

Ted's Camera has the Sony HDR-AS100VR on sale for $369.95 and with the Sony trade-in of $100 for any action camera, this brings the price even lower.

I had a Vivitar action camera bought from Big W for $20 which I traded in.

Thus the final price was
$369.95 + $20.00 - $100 = $289.95

I actually got mine as a price match from JB HiFi. But if you want to price match, make sure that you find a Ted's Camera store that has stock for the staff at JB to call.

    Great camera for the price… spare another $50 flat lens.

      To use the flat lens you also require the SPK-AS1 case. The AS100 comes with the SPK-AS2, which has a curved lens but built in buttons.

      The included case CANNOT focus underwater.

        Rather than buy a SPK-AS1 case (A$48.00 / US$25) and the replacement AKA-RD1 door (A$47 / US$30), you'd be better off getting the 60m case MPK-AS3, (A$59 / US$38)

        When searching for cheap pricing, keep in mind the AS100V includes a $15 Sony store voucher that would bring the price down if you bought in the Sony store.

    Is it worth the extra $200 if I trade in my Roam? How is it compared to go pro hero3 black?

      It fared pretty well on the comparison videos I found on youtube considering the Hero Black 3+ is higher priced. There are videos comparing it to the Hero Black 3+ too.

    You can use the $15 voucher that comes with it multiple times on any product on the sony online store. I got a lot of cheap accessories from there. I got to use it at least 6 times before it said I have exceeded the maximum amount of use.

    Managed to get one in jb hifi Marion today.
    They were selling for $349 less $100 trade in so $249 :)
