  went to the store tonight and picked up the item and asked if there is any discount available for the type cover..
  The lady at cash counter said.. she can do $129 after checking the system.. got the deal now

Damn, a few days too late! Now the student discount doesn't look so appealing … it's only $8 cheaper at HN ($1096) vs. MS online store ($1088). Do you reckon some HN will still sell for this deal price, even though it's expired?

For those who are interested, I bought the 128GB model + keyboard + HDMI adapter for $1200. Had to play HN and JB off each other, but made it happen (ended up buying at JB Bondi Junction). The best one could do otherwise would be the MS online store student price which is $1088 + 135 = $1223.
