This isn't cheap. I use DarkHorse for my printing and its $74 for 1000 cards, quality is stunning.
Clarky, you need to shop around. Dark Horse is a big rip off and their quality is only so-so (source: I am a print broker). Hell, Dark horse even have a second website which is exactly the same only everything is cheaper (australiantradeprinters.com.au). Check I out and you'll see its the dark horse website with a different skin and cheaper prices.
But Dark Horse I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Best quality by far if you want good price is 1print.net.au. Great guys and quality craps on the like of Dark Horse. And it's printed in-house unlike Dark Horse who outsource most things. (I'm not associated with 1Print and I use genuine trade printers for my work who are cheaper again but the public can't access them).

By the time the machines are set up, the cost of the extra 500 cards is low, hence why most places "give" you the extra 500 cards.
I have never used them, but 1Print seem to have some reasonable prices at $69 for 1000, or $65 if you only ned 500, 400 gsm, laminated both sides and large size.
That is a good deal…

As much as I hate Vistaprints quality, if you are happy with square magnets one for each car door you wont be able to go past them. $40 all up for two. No quality magnet printer will come close. If you want a quality magnet (much thicker and stronger per cm plus better printing quality) then fmf.com.au are great but pricey.
Seriously though, you can't tell poor quality at 60kms per hour so just go Vistaprint.
If its a more permanent installation then I would recommend getting vinyl because it will go through a car wash and it will be custom shaped so you can really make the car look nice and not a bodgey square magnet
