You're probably using the Amazon Currency Converter which has a crappy currency conversion rate. Make the order in GBP which makes it use your banks own currency conversion rate which should be slightly cheaper.

My last order from Amazon UK for blurays was the Superman box set. After a month it hadn't shipped so I cancelled the order. I wasn't the only one for whom it hadn't shipped. Buyer beware.
Ordered a Blu Ray boxset from them on the 11th, got it on the 18th. I guess it varies.
Lol 2 occurrences after 700 clicks and 50 +ve votes.. I'm willing to bet that amazon.co.uk is a reliable supplier and it's more auspost which failed to deliver.
I just got the email yesterday saying my Superman boxset has been dispatched. So it looks like they come through but might just take a while.

Amazon doesn't charge you until it ships! You don't even have to wait or ask for a refund. Orders are risk free. You find it from another source or change your mind - just cancel.

Also their estimated shipping dates are accurate, I have never had something ship later than the estimate. It's usually much earlier. And I have order 100+ items at least from both amazon UK and US.
Yes that's fine that they don't charge until it ships but in the meantime you can't buy from elsewhere. I was talking about a month delay for dispatch, not a week or so. I think it's fair, but clearly from the downvoting people just don't want to hear it.

Yes you can, how hard is this to understand? Go online, cancel amazon order, buy, can be done form a smartphone in two minutes while standing inside a shop.
If you've spent time placing an order you want it to be fulfilled. You don't want to be forced to cancel it and buy at a higher price because they haven't shipped for a month. It's annoying. How hard is that to understand?
Actually I ordered this item and my credit card has indeed been charged, and according to Amazon the item has not shipped.
You'll find that yours is about to be prepared for shipping which your credit/debit card gets charged right before that. Mine has just been shipped.
Yes hopefully ( it was charged on the Saturday according to credit card provider), anyway I haven't had any issues really when ordering from Amazon UK or US before.
