How do these compare to Vuly or Springfree.

    Is it similar quality ???

I've found the cheaper ones have really crappy netting.

After a lot of testing, I determined it was worth the extra to get the Vuly Thunder.

  • I hear Spingfree is the Rolls Royce of trampolines, but not sure about Vuly. I had a look at some in a store, but couldn't see anything to justify the extra cost.

One thing I noticed on this is that the springs/straps are inside the netting which could make it more dangerous than Vuly or Springfree.

Most of us grew up with no net and no padding on the springs, you'd probably be sent to jail for allowing your kids to do that now.

The ones that didn't make, aren't able to post here though… :(

          @jv: R.I.P. our bouncing angels.

@jv: The old trampolines with no pads are much better if you are recording segments for funniest home video or youtube.

I dislike these "springs" on the inside of the net.

half defeats the purpose of having a net.

    • I have done a lot of research on trampolines and this is what i have found.

The "Rolls Royce" of trampolines is the Australian designed Vuly Thunder.
      - Amazing bounce, takes 150kg, very safe and high quality. But over $1000.

The "Mercedes" of trampolines would be the Springfree.
      - Very safe but only takes 80-100kg. Some concern about the twist motion is bad for kids. Over $1000

The "VW" of trampolines would be the Vuly Classic 2.
      - Very Safe, takes 150kg, and well made. Spare parts easily available. Under $1000

Then there are the others of various designs. These are generally under $500
Main concerns are UV damage to the spring pads.
I would check warranties and availability on parts.
But at the end of the day you need to weigh up what you want to spend.

Unfortunately (for my wallet), I had the chance to jump on 12 trampolines at a shop here in Melbourne and after that I was convinced how good the Vuly Thunder was.

      • Personally i don't like the Springfree.

This video gives a good summary of the issues…..

      • Hey deal88,
I have been looking into the Vulies (and others) and appreciate your summary above.
It sounds like you've done your research so i have a couple of questions if you wouldn't mind:

1)What was the main selling point(s) for you of the Vuly Thunder versus the the Vuly 2 (other than the sexy styling)?

2)Is it ever possible to get a "bargain" on these things or is just a question of which bonus you get (eg tent, basketball hoop)?

3)How flat does the surface your putting it on NEED to be?

        Thanks.

        • Good questions.

The bounce on the Vuly Thunder is crazy good. My 6 year old test 12 trampolines and was telling me how good the Thunder was, so i took off my shoes and had a bounce my self. I near 100kg at the moment and I was able to do huge jumps and even belly bounces. As well as the huge bounce, it strangely felt a smoother bounce that the other trampolines. The Vuly2 was really good and has all the safety benefits but the bounce is noticeably better on the Thunder (and the Vuly 2 was noticibly better bounce than cheap trampolines with it's dual springs), not sure if the Thunder is worth the extra, but it is the best.

A bargain on the Thunder is hard to come by and the best deal seems to be the free tent. What state are you in? May be able to offer some suggestions.

Flatness, I have not built mine yet as it is a gift from Santa. I don't think it will much of an issue due to the feet and frame design. The thunder does weigh 200kg so it is not going to tip over easy. On the down side, it is hard to move once you have set it up.

        • @deal88:
          Thanks.

I'm in Brisbane. So far the free tent is the best deal I've seen too.

You should get a commission I reckon you've just about tipped me over the edge.

        • @chewbot:

          Try these guys mate.
          http://www.peppertown.com.au/play_accessories_new02.htm
I am in Vic, but these guys in Qld looked pretty good.
Just be aware, i am not sure if the price includes shipping. (i just ran Peppertown and they have free pick up)

I know there are guys in Vic advertising the Large Thunder for $1279, but then add $120 in shipping even if you pick it up. (Apparently Vuly charge $120 to ship from the Qld warehouse).

According to their website, Vuly in Qld also have some on display to trial.
"95 Ingleston Rd, Wakerley, Brisbane, Queensland. We are open weekdays 8am-5pm and weekends 8am-2pm."

        • @deal88: I should add, if you don't want to spend the money on the Thunder, don't try it. This was my mistake, when I tried the Thunder I could not go back to a normal trampoline.

  • Tramampoline!

Vuly and their resellers are offering a free tent enclosure at the moment… I think the offer finishes end of business today 19-Nov…

    • I saw this too and wanted to get a vuly2 before the deadline, however toys r us have no 10" stock. Called Vuly and asked for a shipping discount (because they end up being $140 more than toys r us) and was told nothing we can do (I did point out that they're already freighting to toys r us but to no avail).

Then wife goes to toys r us again yesterday and is told 'we always give the tent for free', so big up yours Vuly.

      • Vuly deal states their tent deal ends today. Vuly seem to chop and change their deal on the website. Sometimes no deal, sometimes a free tent and sometimes a free basketball ring.

My understanding is that ToysRUs has negotiated a free tent with all of the Vulys as a standard deal.

  • We purchased a Vuly 2 and its Fantastic!
