1GB RAM don't cut it anymore specially give the refurbished Nexus 4 was available the other day for 170 odd.

    • nexus 4 isnt 4g so that immediately removes it from contention

    • Try telling that to iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users!

      • IOS does not use java and garbage collection. And it allows less multitasking. So IOS needs less RAM.

Maybe if it had more RAM it could support more multitasking:p

Kinda true - I have this phone from the last deal. There is a bit of lag because I switch between quite a few apps, but it's much faster than my Nokia 720. At $200 I'm not complaining though. The phone is beautiful!

      • Yep, cracking phone, especially for the price.

      • 1GB not quite enough if you have fb, whatsapp, fb messenger etc.

    • I believe it's largely superior to the n4 due to much better battery life, 4G and almost non existent over heating.

Problem is Motorola makes crappy phone these days….it's been relegated to may be 10th in the smart phones hierarchy.

  • could not find moto g 2nd gen….Can u provide the link

  • The one you linked didn't say 4G

    • it does state expandable memory. which the original (3G) doesn't have.
also in the link is LTE

Its definitely for the 4G model … just make sure the store staff don't give you the 3G model by mistake - check the product code and the 4G also says 4G in the bottom right hand corner on the front of the box.

I just picked one of these up myself and can confirm it is 4G

  • Expired now, coupon code is no longer valid

  • Forgive me father, for I have sinned…

BEAT20 was expired, but figured $228 was a pretty good price for G 2014 anyway. Please don't cancel my ozbargain membership :-)

Made the order Click & Collect so I can change my mind (or find a better ozbargain).

Can anyone suggest a good case for the G 2014, suitable for a student?

    • There are cheap cases on eBay, if that's your thing. For a $200 phone, why bother with a case though? Just be careful with it

      • Found the Cruzerlite Bugdroid on Amazon for only $9.90 + $5.00 shipping. A bit more than I'd usually pay for a TPU but they have a good reputation and they're supposedly slim.

  • Which is the better phone? Moro g 2nd, moto g first gen, samsung galaxy s3 or nexus 4?

    • Moto G 2nd or Moto G1st if you need 4G.

    • Depends if camera is important or not.

Thanks for sharing. I bought the first gen for about that price a year or so ago and was impressed with it for the price. No brainer for the next version at this price.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent affordable case for it. There doesn't seem to be Spigen or Otterbox for the 2nd Gen to date. The cruzerlite from Amazon seems to be ok otherwise its a cheap TPU one from ebay and cross my fingers. Whats everyone else using?

  • I got the cruzerlite which seems like a reasonable TPU (haven't used it yet) for $15 from Amazon. For the original Moto G we got a very good Incipio DualPro from Syntricate that is awesome but more expensive at 34.95 incl freight.
