    Is this software legit? Judging by the excellent English on their website and their 'User Reviews' it seems a bit dodge.

    The ripped file (irrespective of the format) does not playback with audio. Video is fine. Am I missing something…

    It works ok for me .
    tested with .avi ( distorted pictures ) but .mpeg is ok .

      AVIs out of sync. Mpeg was ok. Can be tricky to select correct file on DVDs with several episodes. Ok for free but it might take some trial and error.

    DVD shrink works just fine, in case anyone's looking to backup their dvds. and it's freeware

      But DVD Shrink doesn't rip the DVD's does it?

      I've used a DVD ripping program, and then DVD shrink to back up to a single layer disc. As far as i know DVD wont rip the disk.

    Excellent - I downloaded Winx DVD ripper after a post on this site. It has worked very well for me and is very simple to use. So I am very happy to be able to upgrade to the platinum product for free - no complaints here.
