Do you even realise that tablet is The 7" lite 8gb version compared to 16GB premium 8" version.

      • Oops my bad, I didn't see that part.

        • @TRENT86: what? i was only saying that it's not online at all for me when i visit the website.

        • @holden93: My bad dude, all these comments are getting confusing. Cheers for the update I will mark it out of stock :)

  • It's available in-store as well. Went to look at it in one store (had it on display), but the display price was $249. Another store had it on display for the correct $189. Either way, picked up two in-store for $189 each. Narre Warren (Fountain Gate) store also had cheap InStyle brand covers (black, pink and blue) in a clearance bin by the registers for $2.

    • Why didn't you just get it delivered for free, there are bulk videos and reviews on this tablet :)

There's plenty of reviews, that is true, however having read a LOT of reviews about cheaper tablets in the last few months, and then going to look at them, reviews don't tell you anything about how they feel, or how the screen actually looks. OK so they do, but IMO those are things that are subjective and personal. We were looking at Acer/Asus tablets in the 7-8" range until we saw the screen on them compared to this tablet. Plus I wouldn't have seen the $2 cases that will do well until I can let the kids pick their own after Christmas. ;)

        • That's true about the cases :) But Samsung aren't really cheap tablets so you can pretty much rely on the reviews you read and see

  • Thanks for the post Trent, I got mine yesterday.

I was playing with it last night and I'm a bit underwhelmed, not totally disappointed though. It was worth the $189 for sure, but I was using my iPad mini as the benchmark. Compared to that it's really sluggish, and the android ui (updated to 4.4.2) is so messy. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but simple tasks like moving icon on the home screen isn't intuitive. I thought it would move by holding down on the icon, it looks like it's moving/dragging but when I let go it goes back to where it was! I found out I have to press the menu button, go to edit, then drag the icon. why so hard?!

The Google Play Store is also a bit strange to me. It doesn't feel organised or monitored by google much. There seem to be a fair amount of clone apps that look so dodgy. I have to admit the Windows Phone app store (what ever it's called) is worse.

I understand it's 18months old and not a high end tablet so still very happy with my new toy.
