Yes, they are.
I don't think I can legally sell non approved electrical products in Australia.
This is the manufactures web site.

Requires a licensed electrician?? Recommended, perhaps, but nobody can tell you what you can or cannot do in the privacy of your own home. If someone has the know-how on how to install one, then there's no reason they can't do it.

Bzzt, wrong.
Prove it.
All is fine until you come to do an insurance claim on a fire, and they ask for compliance certificates
Doesn't change the fact that you can do it yourself if you are willing to accept the risks. People are acting like the cops will come knocking at your door and arrest if you if you install a light fitting. Absurd.
I can bypass my electrical meter to get free electricity if I'm willing to accept the risks. Doesn't mean it's legal.
That's completely different. You are committing theft and there is a victim in the crime. Doing something by yourself in your own home is not committing a crime because there is no victim (whether it be an individual or a company).
@MrZ: victims = your family and friends, yourself, future buyers of the house, and anyone connected to the same electrical grid.
I'm after 10 x dimmable LED lights approx 13W. Would these be suitable? I'm guessing I have to buy the LED Globe separately? Can you supply these as well and at what price?
This is just a once off, I purchased these for my home and have quite a few spare.
I use LED non-dimmable 3W globes in mine.
The E27 holder makes it easy to find globes. though caution any chinese globes you buy, though I have never had a problem.
Some sparkies install powerpoints (surface socket) in the ceiling. And some downlights transformers come with a standard aussie plug. I just plugged the ones i got from miidys straight in no need for a sparkie. Woot!
Ordered one. I can't wait to replace the low voltage halogen down light in bedroom. Those hot transformers sitting in the roof have always made me nervous, not to mention the heat from the halogen alone. Thank you.
Thank you.
Are these approved for use in Australia ?
