    Virgin has been traditionally trying to compete with Qantas as a full service airline, however they recently just bought the remainder of Tiger for $1, and will be shifting some of the Tiger aircraft off domestic routes onto some short haul international routes (Most likely Indonesia, Thailand, etc) to compete with Jetstar.

    So they are trying to compete with Jetstar, but I don't think Virgin wants to tarnish the part of it's brand that competes with Qantas.
