Their Stick Vacs are top notch. However their regular barrel ones are just as good as plenty of other brands which are almost half its cost.

DC35 only goes for around 15min i think it was, where as DC59 does like 40min i think it was.
The DC59 I think the battery only lasts for about 20 minutes, and approx. 7 minutes when on turbo mode.

Looking at the specs it's the same power in normal mode and 1.5x power in boost mode. So actual engine wise it will only perform better on boost mode, for 2 mins less.
the biggest difference is that according to reviews, it fixes a lot of issues people had with the 44. (not saying 44 is bad, but you know , people complain, they took the feedback and put it in the next version)
iirc, among them is the container, weight and trigger and the charging station led.

I bought the DC59 animal from one of the Good Guys ebay sales a couple of months ago for around $420, so this deal is a great price. I hope they honour it for you all, it has to be an oversite on Myer's behalf. The vac is very convenient, great when there's kids around dropping crap everywhere and the suction is good - our corded vac hasn't had much of a run lately.

Are these ok to use as proper house vacuum cleaners? They just look like handhelds.
Is it as powerful as a normal vacuum, no. You really need to weigh up floor surfaces and size of house. I use both. It's convenient to pull this out every day to keep the place relatively clean. But pull out the normal vacuum when the house is mopped every once in awhile.
If you were buying just one vacuum around this price I would get the Miele Cat and Dog. If I was a single person or couple in an apartment you could get away with just this.

Take the stick off all the parts are interchangeable.
Takes a while to charge 3-5 hours to full. DC35 has a lesser battery than the DC44 or DC59 (which have the same battery) so yes less runtime.
Had a mates wife go in store. they were trying to do it on their system but it was still coming up too expensive. So i'm here walking him through the online procedure.

It makes no difference. If your order is not available in store your order basically reverts to an online order. I ordered to pick up in store and they didn't even bother to inform me the store didn't have any stock. But when I called them this is how they explained it to me. If their in store stock levels are so out then their online store levels could be too.
Hmm, is it a good price for the DC58 @ $234? I had a brief search, but it seems there isn't much of a difference between the 58 & 59 besides that the 59 comes with the bonus aluminium tube?
I heard various rumors saying DC58 has a weaker motor than DC59. Since DC59 has the tube which requires it to have a stronger motor.
I could be wrong though.
DC58 doesn't seem to come with a docking station for recharging and storage like the DC59 does

it works great for hair, so if you have a mrs it's the same =D, plus it's not an exclusive term for pets :D

DC35- 15/13/- normal/motorised head/turbo mode
DC44- 20/17/8
DC59- 20/17/6 (turbo is 1.5x stronger)
