  Most major chains or most Hotels? are excluded. Did want to go to Bali in mid December but may have to go elsewhere as I could not find any of my preferred hotels on "PROMO CODE ELIGIBLE".

  WOW!!!! thanks OP, this offer STACKS with other deals already existing on orbitz.

  For example, the hotel I happened to pick had a separate promo running "3 Nights & Save 25%".

  although I was booking for 3 nights anyway- I assumed this wouldn't stack with the promo code and forgot about it.
  Put my credit card details in to book at the promo code rate (ie 20% off), and this came up after payment:

  "Good news: During final confirmation, the price of your hotel was lowered by $172.75.
  The total cost is now $518.11, and your savings have been applied. "

  The both discounts are itemised in the cost and billing summary:
  Hotel (3 nights)
  2 guests
  $254.45 avg/night $763.36
  EXCLUSIVE! Members Only Stay 3 Nights & Save 25% -$190.85
  Promo code applied -$114.50
  Taxes and fees $60.10
  Total due at booking $518.11

  I also noted the hotel room I booked was free cancellation up until just before my stay… so YMMV but I'd say it's definately worth other people giving it a go.
