Bought one of these last time they were 30% off on the Dell website. Such a great monitor I just bought a second one.

Because clicking on the link is sooooo hard.

      It's for one.

    • +1

The link is correct as it is for the purchase of one monitor. However the picture shows two because DELL wants to demonstrate the monitor's thin border. Misleading or not up to ACCC.

      • +4

I wouldn't say it's misleading. You click on the "choose" button to buy and it only shows one monitor.

    • +2

The image shows 2, the link shows 1.

  • Well worth it at this price. Fantastic Monitor

  • Thanks, OP. Time to stock up!

  • Thanks OP been waiting for this to go on special again

Got this couple of months ago @ same price. Nice picture quality and thin bezel. My only complaint is the "touch" setting buttons are hard to press to select different input.

    • +2

And the stupid 5 minute off timer when using HDMI inputs!

I have searched high-and-low for how to change this. I just want a 30s wait till it shuts off, not 5 whole minutes!

      BAH!

You could push the conveniently located power off icon?

        • … push …

          too quaint.

        • @AlexF:

You can push it 15 times. It might work once.

    • the "touch" setting buttons are hard to press to select different input.

That's exactly how I feel too. I just got a HDMI switcher from ebay (plus a short HDMI cable) to make input selection easier. I'll see how that goes.

Sounded really good until I saw the resolution :-(

  • Thanks, just bought two. Would be nice if the MDS14 wasn't so expensive!

  • +2

Each to their own if going for two, but I'd probably rather have a single 2560x1440 for $399 in the other thread for a similar (but smaller) number of pixels…

    • 2560x1440/$399.0=9,239pel/$
      1920x1080/$265.2=7,819pel/$

      • desk space, simplicity, pixel density etc

  • cool got one

  • Anyone know how fast delivery is?

    • +30

      About 60 km/h in a van

    • Usually get stuff delivered from Dell in a week in WA

    • I Got my delivery within 3 days in Victoria, they deliver from Sydney.

  • I mainly use laptops but I've been thinking about setuping up a docking station on my table so I actually have incentive to do use my computers at my table as opposed to lying down on my bed, which I am sure is bad for my health. This monitor looks pretty sweet for that especially since it can be pivoted to made use of it as a document viewer.

  • Great Dell monitors' back on special, been waiting

  • It's a shame the double stand isn't also on sale. Could have been a cool addition for those of us who are after a two monitors. That things pricey.

    • +2

you can get 2 gas lift arms for a little less.. much more flexible

      • This is what I did last time, got two of the monitors and two of those very nice arms (I also got a discount on them through a partnership program or something).

  • +1

I bought two during the recent 15% off ebay deal.

They're both in the process of RMA. There's the stupid 5min time out but even more worrying is that they occasionally don't resume after sleeping.

Search for this in google and you'll see it's a wide spread issue.

If my return is accepted I'll be getting the u27 to go with my u2711. If they dont, they'll be going on eBay in the original box for less than what's posted here.

would have been nice if 16:10

  • Fml just bought 3 of these 330each…. Great monitors apart from 5min time out

  • If you need a monitor, this is what you want

    • and if you have display port and want 9 of these…. this is NOT what you want. (I have 3.)

    • That's a very very very broad statement.

      • Yes. It was preemptive. Someone is bound to ask, is this a good monitor? Should i buy this? I was the same, and no regrets

  • I got two of these last time (or one of the last times) and my only complaints are that they sometimes won't detect the signal (display port daisy chained) which usually just requires you to switch the first monitor off and on. I don't switch inputs at all so I can't comment on that. Otherwise I'm quite happy with them.

    • I got one, and havent had any problems with it. Looking at other comments on this thread, i guess im lucky

  • Has anyone compared these with the 1900x1200 Dell U2410 ?

I like mine but the bezel is so thick in comparison.

  • I have 2 of these. No complaints, especially love whacking it into portrait mode for excellent vertical vewing/web browsing.

Be sure to check every aspect of it though, I had to return it (though this is not a problem with dell's awesome service).

Useless customer service. Never dealt with Dell before but I probably wouldn't do it again. The status link on the confirmation email doesn't work. I called CS and they said 'Delivery on or before 14th' BUT 'Most likely will not be delivered then and they have no idea when it will be dispatched'. WTF does that even mean?? I asked if they send an email once it's been dispatched and the answer was 'It's very difficult as we handle many customer'. Really?? This is a manual process?? I really thought these guys were better. I guess not.

  • I was holding out for the 16:10 as I do a lot of photography… But realised that in Lightroom, the toolbars take a decent amount of horizontal space, so the vertical room isn't as necessary. Just a thought.

I bought one. This is the most amazing monitor I've used to date.

    • Same here, wish my work would invest in these instead of cheapo LG's!

      • hoorah to that. looking at my work monitor just isnt the same anymore.
