5 macarons and 2 overpriced hot chocolates… for $16 its pretty bad value. Maybe if the included their 20% discount from the last deal it might be worth it.

    • I rarely go there so still small tiny discount would be good to bring missus

    • +4

I still don't understand why there are votes on this deal. Maybe half the existing price would be somewhat reasonable. $5 would be a bargain. Wait, what's this site called again?

      • +5

For the same reason there are votes on the iPhone 6 $858 BigW deal.
Some people on this site don't understand that a bargain is not always about getting useless/worthless shit free/cheap in exchange for personal information.
Any discount on a product that has a large market/people are going to buy regardless of the discount is more valuable than most discounts on products that have no value to the majority of people.

  • +3

    what a rip

    • +3

They are quite overpriced in terms of what they sell just because of the Lindt brand but what can I do, missus loves it.

  • +28

Gavin, why do we have to sign in to view deals?

I can't even be bothered looking at your site because of this.

    • +1

      True +1.

        • I hit Print Screen (copy screen) before the popup shows and then open MSPAINT and press CTRL+V (paste).
Otherwise mafmouf I've heard the command "Format C:" works just as well.

    • +4

I agree, very annoying to have to login. I just want to view, If I like I login to buy, otherwise there is no harm. But when I have to login, then I have to logout since someone other than me might order without my knowledge. very annoying indeed.

    • +5

The most annoying part tbh. Thats why i stopped going to that site :(

    • +1

Couldn't agree more, you should add in the option to close the 'sign in' pop up screen. People will be more receptive and more likely to sign in/sign up and buy the deal!.

Good quality chocolate and atmosphere. Original price is sooo expensive, $16 is… eh.. ok/reasonable, worth trying out :P

edit: Not valid on public holidays

    • +3

The annoying nagging of logging in is not only for this deal but for everything. If this system is not gonna change, i can only see a diminishing number of possible customers. Just my 2cents.

  • +1

Last time I was there they charged me $7.20 for their 'signature' hot chocolate!

So really it's $8 for your choice of hot chocolate, or milkshake, and 2.5 macarons.
If each macaron is $3 each, then you're getting $7.50 worth of macrons just for yourself.

    Therefore, bargain!

  • +1

Not bad, the girl said she wanted to go to Lindt store.

    Might get this

  • +3

Wow, what a bad deal. Would pay like $10-12 for something like this

  • Honestly seems like an OK price. But that being said, "OK" as in what I would expect to pay without a discount. For 50% off? Should be $8.

  • How much so expensive is the Lindt? It does not taste better compared with Cadbury hot chocolate whic cost you $4 for 200g powder at supermarket.

    • +2

Probably subjective, but I find the Cadbury hot chocolate "dusty".

You can also get Lindt hot chocolate mixture (actual chocolate) in the supermarkets too.

  • +5

Better to wait for Lindt's own blocks of chocolate sell for $1.50 at Woolworths - buy a stack and then pour hot steamy milk over the blocks in a mug. Exact same delicious results!
Can't argue over the macarons, though, but I think you're better off buying a box of Zumbo or the pre-made ones in the supermarket.

  • This is basically advertising.
"BUY NOW to experiecne a true cholcoate indulgence for two".
Not to mention the shocking spelling..

  • is this the hot chocolate that gets served with the steamed frothy milk separately?

I just feel like snuggling when I tried that for the first time in Yarra!

  • +3

So expensive even Guylain cafe is cheaper.

    • +2

It has to be, if 'Guylain' is a knock-off of Guylian.

    • Their gritty/sandy/pasty seashells should be free at-most.

    • Guylian's chocolate drink and dessert definitely tastes better. So as Max Brenner.

  • +3

It's a bargain no doubt if it makes your girl or wife happy.

Good for those on a date perhaps!?

  • I wonder if you can apply the $10 sign-up credit to Our Deal towards this making it only $6 for TWO people. Now that would be a bargain :)

    • Why not?
