Damn, would have purchased if it had DAB+

"Whatever you look for in a CD receiver, you'll probably find it in Pioneer's DEH-X8550BT."
    What about DAB? It's 2014.

  • +2

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous that DAB+ car stereo's are rare.

  • The DEH-X8550BT is the older 2013 model unit released in February 2013. The latest is DEH-X8650BT for the 2014 range

    • Even the DEH-X8650BT which is $297 at JB, still does not do DAB.
It does add SIRI functionality over the DEH-X8550BT though.

    no dab at 200?

  • Does the display support unicode? ( foreign language characters )

I am looking for one with unicode display.
Doesn't have to be this particular model. Any model with Bluetooth features will do.
    Thanks

SCE-rep, any possibility of a deal on the Sony MEX-N5050BT?
Or the Clarion XC1410 mini amp?

    • i bought one of these from SCE in the ebay 15% off sale, admirable little performer. I use some splits off the front channels, You can't bridge it, but i bought a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub and run that off the rear channels of the amp (using the sub out to feed it a low passed signal from my head unit) and it performs quite admirably.

      • Yeah I found a quality review; basically the clarion one is under rated for the power it provides, and the Alpine is over rated.

Its also cheaper, has a '60hz' high pass switch, instead of 80hz (exactly what i want, the 60), and just overall is a good unflavored unit with usually a full 50db of separation.

Just…. Australia prices it so high; I was trying to avoid buying from america.

        • Hi MasterScythe,

to be fair when you say that we are more expensive then the states you should consider a few things particularly on the XC1410

lets say you purchase the unit here

          http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_71986_Clarion-XC1410.html?SearchClickout[query_id]=45646960&SearchClickout[Ignore]=1

if you go with the official rate for today ( which BTW is not the rate that you will get when you purchase you will be paying between $102 - 105 AUD for the unit) now you add in freight which on a item this size is going to be between $25- 30 USD uninsured ( lets say $25 USD which is 28.5 AUD)

after all that you now need to wait a week or so, to get your unit, and if its damaged in transit you can try and put a claim in with a company in another country, and see if they are happy to help you out, and you get 12 months warranty and in the case you have to claim you have to send it back to them ( clarion australia wont warrant it) who knows how much that would cost.

over all this whole exercise you have saved yourself a total of $9 if you have saved anything at all with the exchange rate that you may get.

where as purchasing from us we are an authorized agent for clarion so you can buy with confidence and know that your covered.

so is it really cheaper ?

    • Hi MasterScythe,

sorry for the delay in getting back to you for some reason the posts where not coming thru to our email !

yes of course we are always happy to do a deal PM us and we will work something out for you !

      many thanks

      SCE
