Power plug is a deal breaker for me :-(

  • other than the spacers, the batteries are more exp than the chocolate deals. As for the charger, its not going to be useful for those who bought dedicated ones… and you probably need a converter for it… thats +$

    • Like stated above, 'converter' is simply a cheap travel adapter. It'll run on 110v-240v!
I don't think the Eneloop spacers are worth the money. I'd rather buy a generic one that'll hold 2 or 3 batteries to give it a higher output, closer to what a C or D battery would as standard!
And not sure what you mean when talking about people who've already bought a dedicated one? At least this pack comes with the better BQ-CC17 as opposed to the CC18!

      • Recommend any of the spacers you'd buy for us?

Can't get on from work computer… but eBay, they're all over the thing!

  • Because these are now branded Panasonic, I assume they are also made in China?

    • No one is 100% sure on this. Australia is definitely getting Chinese made Pano's, but not sure on the American market as it has been said previously that Pano are still also producing ex Japan???

      • Officially the US gets Japanese cells, as does Japan and Europe. But there is no guarantee these are US models despite being sold in the US. Suppliers can source from China too.

I also read something about Amazon the other day that was interesting. They dont discriminate between stock they hold in their warehouse. It all just gets mixed as inventory, and they ship from the larger pile as its ordered. ie: If your deal was from business X, sent from Amazon, and they have a similar deal with Business Y, you could get product from either supplier. Not necessarily the one you ordered from, and trusted, and this is not good if you would never deal with say business Y. Wont matter if its all the same.

  • If you're just starting out with Eneloops, it's not too bad a deal.
About $20 per 8 pack of batteries (which is standard special lately), and an extra $20 for the charger and spacers!

  • what the average recharge time for these batteries? can i buy any generic charger to charge these types of batteries?

    • AA: Approx 7 hours [2,000mAh] - AAA: Approx 6 hours [800mAh] for this charger.
And yes you can, but you wouldn't. You need something that's more than just a timer cut charger! Maha and LaCrosse are well respected chargers amongst enthusiasts!

      • 7 hours? jeez i was thinking of replacing my aging varta batteries which have a recharge time of 15 mintutes.

        • You can get the quick charger with AAs from Masters for $30. But even then it's still about an hour per battery! (75min-220min)
Edit: 15 minutes sounds incredibly quick. How hot do they get?

          @Snoop:

Perhaps he means his Varta batteries have lost so much capacity, that they charge in 15 minutes?

        • @Russ: not really they seem to have poor contacts with certain devices/toys for the kids, hence the purchase. But they work pretty well for my camera flashes/xbox controller for the past 8 years!

  • Which charger does the come with ? The -16? -17?

BQ-CC17… as per picture and description!
