I'd still be happy with 2GB Version it's a great phone my sister has one. Also as far as I can tell the 2gb version is the only one at Aussie retailers. Dse, Harvey norman and jbhifi are all 2GB
Sony Z2 looks like the best deal here out of the premium smart phones.
I am waiting for the z3 which will be out next month.
This doesn't sound worth it
Sony Xperia Z3 sports the same Snapdragon 801 SoC but the quad-core processor is not clocked at 2.5GHz instead of 2.3GHz as was the case with Xperia Z2. Apart from this the Z3 comes with Android 4.4.4 out of the box as opposed to the Z2 which has Android 4.4.2. Barring these two features, most other specifications are pretty much identical on both the Z2 and Z3. While the Sony Xperia Z2 came in just the 16GB variant, the Z3 comes in 16GB as well as 32GB variants. We tested the 16GB variant which offers usable memory of 11.5GB.
Full reviewI think it is worth the wait, two things for me PS4 play and the extremely long battery life over any mobile phone. 10 hours of on screen time, normal 2 day life and in stamina 3 days. nearly double of the iphone 6. (the z3 compact is even better.
lots of little software extras over the z2 as well.
but $500 for a Z2 is pretty good price wise.
@PVA: Yeah gotta love all those little extra surprises as you get to know your new phone :)
Has a wider angle camera too, also seems like it has better water proofing (same IP rating though), also is dust proof instead of dust resistant…nicer design (less angular so more pleasant to hold).
It's really just a more improved Z2, but it's those little things that often make the difference between something being great instead of just good.
The difference will probably be around $200 though, so that's for each person to decide if the differences are worth $200 or waiting a few months for the price to drop.
Apparently the battery life is great on the Z3. I will almost certainly upgrade to it from my Z1 when the price drops a bit more.
@PVA:
PS4 Remote Play app has been ported to other Android devices. Refer to XDA for the thread.@PVA:
Agreed, I'm upgrading from the Z2 and here's why:
-Better display panel
-Optimized battery, been tested to last around 9.5 hours screen on time, which is unheard of!
- lighter, rounder body, better in the hand.
-louder front facing speakers
-will get Android L before the Z2@nmartin84: Better waterproofing how?
@noodlesfordaddy:
The Z3 has a higher dust and waterproof rating than the Z2. (IP65/68)@PVA:
1 less reason to get the Z3 vs Z2 and other android phones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/4-4-4-s…Remote play has been ported to any android 4.0+ rooted phone :)
@PVA:
Playing a videogame on a phone is the worst idea ever.
And all the Xperia's feel like they're built of solid steel. Best solid feel phone ive seen, and only the HTC One 8 compares.
I was keeping an eye on the Z1 @ $418 a couple days before the sale. would have made it $334 with this sale. Bargain! Cept it is apparently sold out. (still avail on tgg website though).
Same here, bit disappointed really. Before they "sold out", it read "more than 10 available". But then suddenly (and without the number actually sold increasing), it was sold out.
Goddamn it. I just bought that LG plasma TV last week off the regular website deal.
cant you get 120% back? isn't that their price promise?
I've sent off an email to ask. Will see what happens.
How do you find the TV? Tossing up between this and the samsung series 6 deal posted.
@2stroksmokr: Link is up now :)
Still hasn't arrived yet. Grr. The store was going to send it via courier "sometime" next week, without even giving a heads up when to be home. A stern letter to head office and now they're sending it out with the regular deliveries Tuesday with forward notice of a two hour window to be home (Monday is a public holiday in ACT).
So contrary to the advice their support email gave me, they don't do the price guarantee on eBay items, not even their own. They are giving me $100 store credit though. :/
How does this compare to the sony kdl 50 on dse for $999?
Both similar in what they can do but the plasma is 600hz subfield driving, personally I would go for that Samsung 48" 3D One with the sound bar If you need one for just over 1k but that's because of the cashback so ignore if you don't need a soundbar
Plasma's don't do 'hz', the 600hz rating is pure marketing to sell against the LCD variety.
Are you sure about cashback from Samsung when buying from eBay?

I could be wrong as TGG may provide an invoice that does not say it is bought on eBay. Something to be aware of when you buy
Yeah I might remove it just to be safe, they are really cheap anyway so it would be a bonus you could try after buying
shouldn't the LG G3 phone be $520.20 delivered and not $549?
and the Sony xeperia Z2 $482what have I missed?
got it, $100 max discount.
Is there any good deals out there on the Z1 compact?
The LG G3 is a 2gb ram version :(
