  • do you know the output of the USBs?

    • +1

1000ma is 1amp so it is a 5w port, the lowest possible.

Still sort of useful but maybe not good for an iPad unless you are driving Sydney, Melbourne.

      • +4

1A isn't the lowest possible, USB1 and USB2.0 were capped at 500mA, only in the last few years have higher amperage ports become the norm.

  • +2

    Based on previous post- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148461
    5v 1000mah

    • Thanks, updated description.

      • If you have the printed catalogue, you might be able to read the writing next to the USB ports to confirm

        • +2

          Just checked my one.
          Can confirm description is correct.

Proof you will get negged for literally anything these days.

      • -3

        Yes, you are.

  • Are you sure of the date OP?

The Aldi website does not list it on the 24th

    • +1

      Yes I am sure.
I couldn't find it online either.

  • damn, and I though $3.30 at BIC was a good deal http://www.buyincoins.com/item/748.html#.VBrXdBYrGts
I wonder if this one is as electrically noisy? The BIC one oblitarates the radio if you have it too close

    • +1

I would say Aldi is generally more reliable than the cheapies you can get shipped from China/HK on eBay (and BiC).

Worst case, returns should be much easier.

    • Reading the previous post, one guy had some noise. Try in 60 day period.

  • Got one but always worry kids put fingers in and get shock.
can someone kindly confirm It is safe to put fingers on the 12V port when in use.

Think it is safe, but I did not want to try it myself.
Learnt from my childhood's lesson - put my finger in a 220V light bulb socket when adults not watching - never again. Thanks.

These splitters are NOT safe, so be careful using it around your kids. Even with a fast-blow fuse (which these things all have), still a very real potential for a very nasty shock.

  • Any stock in SE Melb…?

  • Can't find in stock anywhere!! I suspect this could be an erroneous post.
