Hi,
I am a first time poster. Details of the camera can be found at - https://www.olympus.com.au/getmedia/487ee1c0-6ef8-497a-b212-… . I bought it for $218 after found this deal in Oz-bargain in Feb this year (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/133320). For an amateur trying to venture into semi-pro photography with a pocket-able camera that can be used with inter-changeable lenses; It doesn't get better than this.

Note 1: The later models E-PL5 (for $420.75) or OM-D E-M10 (for $764.15) can be found at JB Hi-Fi till tomorrow (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/deals/cameras/hot-deals-cameras/?p…). However, I am not a semi-pro photographer and won't be able to use all the features provided by the later models. Please note, I haven't been able to find better price either from E-bay or Amazon for all the three models listed above. Costco has the OM-D E-M10 dual lens kit for $999 but not sure if that's is a bargain or not.
Note 2: Not sure if it is a duplicate post as this - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160460 . If it is, please let me know and I'll remove my post.

In stock at Bribie Island, QLD.

  • There was one each at David Jones Bourke Street (last night) and GW (this morning)

  • Could also consider the E-PM2 which is better than this. But also comes with the price difference.

Strange that although this is Micro 4/3 but it is only 12.3MP, I've noticed pretty much all the M4/3 cameras that I own and know of is 16MP. This must be a pretty old model to still sport a 12.3MP sensor.

    • can i just ask what makes the PM2 better? the PL3, although a year older (2011 vs 2012) has a tilting LCD but not touchscreen like on the PM2 and the PM2 only does 30fps vs the PL3's 60fps

      • E-PL3 VS E-PM2 comparison

I own an E-PM1 & it's more or less still better than the E-PL3.

The E-PM2 has a much newer sensor that is so much better in low light.
The PL3 is good up to about iso 800, the PM2 to about 3200 or 6400.

The PM2 is also smaller and lighter. Generally just a much newer camera.
The PM1 is is a more slipery version of the PM2 with a crappier sensor.

  • The Dick Smith online site shows still available in Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.
