  • None of the items in the link are 20% off. Do Masters use the factory cashback to make it appear to be 20%?

    • It says Up to 20% off and yes the items that are 20% off include the cashback, the deals not 20% off do not include the cashback in pricing

      • + Bonus samsung cashback offers

You might wanna revise that bit of the title & desc…it strongly implies that the cashbacks are in addition to the alleged 20%…which is not the case at all.

Be careful with Samsung washing machines. I spoke to a salesperson in Masters and he told me to stay well clear of them. They seem unreliable. He said its luck of the draw if you get a good one or a lemon, he said returns of these washing machines is quite common. Instead he recommended LG, which they don't even sell.

    • I'm not a fan of Samsung appliances in general, they seem quite shoddy for the asking price IMHO.

      • I think their main competitor LG seems to be taking them quite seriously

        :-)

        Cheers.

I'll never touch another LG product. Any that we've ever had, and there were a few, have died barely outside of manufacturers warranty.

          F&P are not much better.

    • I have an LG front loader and it's terrible… It's had to be repaired under warranty 5+ times. There's also something wrong with the firmware which occasionally randomly locks the door for a day with all my wet clothes inside.

    • I don't blame him. Samsung washing machines have already burnt down a ton load of houses, and have been recalled in the process. Yes, I know these fires/recalls relate to their top loaders, but I still wouldn't trust their front loaders either.

        Negged by a Samsung fanboi, I see…

      • Maybe include a link next time

        http://www.news.com.au/national/breaking-news/samsung-recall…

Though that was in Apr 2013 and they've had time to hopefully address the issues.

Also, although you say a ton of houses, it only mentions firefighters linked 6 house fires. (1 is bad enough but 6 doesn't sound like a "ton" of houses)

Thanks for your warning but I am going to get one of these.

I have been researching quite a fair bit in the last week or so. This is a good price.

I would have preferred to get the 10 kg version but the price of the 10 kg for this model (I think this is a newer model compared to the WF series) seemed to have jumped significantly compared to the previous WF model.

Price at Masters for the 10 kg WW series is $1366 (after cashback) compared to what most seemed to be able to get the 10 kg WF around for $1000 previously (after cashback).

      - of the WF 10 kg Samsung front loader. No ones seemed to have written anything really bad.

Thought about Miele, Asko, Bosch etc… but will give this one a go.

      Cheers.

      • This has good warranty too

        • Thanks OP. That's good to know. Then there's an extra year warranty that I am going to get if I put his on my Citibank Signature card. It will be my first front loader, replacing a 15 yrs Hoover 5kg top loader that is still going strong.

          Cheers.

      • I got the 10kg front loader about 6 months ago or so. Been very happy with it. Only gripe is that the door doesn't open very wide - bit of a design flaw.

I read all the previous price discussions, marched into Joyce Mayne and told the guy I wanted it and that "EVERYONE on the internet got it for $1,000 so that's what I want it for"…he just kind of looked stunned and went "everyone on the internet?", I just nodded and tried to look as resolute and dumb (because you cant argue with dumb!) as possible.

He went to say something, changed his mind and then went away, rang his boss and came back and gave it to me for that. Easiest $400 I've ever knocked off a tag price. He didn't even try to hard sell me on insurance for it.

I laugh when I think of how that conversation probably went with the boss.

    • I got told the opposite when I was shopping around. The Samsung's also rate well on product review website. Been happy with mine, but not had it that long - so time will tell.

That said, I'm also a fan of LG - we had a washer/dryer combo for 8yrs and were very happy with it. Fridge for 8yrs (that I sold working) that never missed a beat and has now been replaced with another LG that I am pleased with so far. Have had multiple TV's over the years that we've been happy with (never had one break down, have always sold working after years or still have) as well as a DVD recorder.

I bought a Samsung, 1 load everyday, its been 5 years. still going good.

  • Concur!!!

  • It's hard to know. I got an 8.5kg Samsung a few years ago and returned the first one because it made too much noise when pumping (it makes a point that it's quiet in the sales pitch). The replacement has been fine but I'm a very light user of it so that means nothing.

I know someone that bought a $3k Siemens for use in a B&B they run thinking a top line one would be a good idea. Wrong. Something hard a guest put in it split the drum. Something like $1600 to fix and they won't warranty it due to possible further damage.

Read online that someone that has rental properties finally went Panasonic after trying lots of other brands.

  • Yay in inverter in a washing machine. Any excuse to put more complex electronic circuits into a moisture-rich environment. The worst thing is all the brands will jump on for a me to…. Im sure the salesman will have heap of stories why this is better for your clothes. Tell him you cleanse your clothes and your soul by meditating and beating them on rocks at the banks of the Ganges.

Realistically I think most of these applicances nowdays are not worth fixing I think try and buy the cheapest capital cost and throw out when theres a problem. Its costs you $150 for a guy to come out and tell you its stuffed… Its also alot more palatable to buy a $500 lemon than a $2500 one.

All that saying and so far our LG front load washer has been good so for the past year. Its probably the best front loader ive owned. But every washer you have is the best washer until you need a $370 main control board.

    • Fisher and Paykel have had Inverters in Washing Machines for around 20 years. Mine is still going in it's 17th year. The variable speed nature of the inverter means no gearbox to wear or break.

  • not bad, they usually go for $100 per kg

  • LG make reliable washing machines, and fridges. Never tried Samsung, but I am thinking it should be good quality.

  • I got the older cousin to this model, very happy
