Just got this in a email, not sure how long it goes for.
All they say is "And for the next few days we offer you Free Shipping worldwide!"

Yep, you need a beast of a PC to run these; don't even think about rigging this to a minimal/standard HTPC.
minimal/standard is a pretty wide term….. do you mean atoms based sets? care to elaborate? :)
I am running a i7-3630QM and it sometimes lags the system.
thanks, gives me a decent idea(Have one of those in my Laptop aswell)….
I thought I'd read about these running off a raspberry pi? Not sure why it'd lag a real HTPC….(although the pi i think was a separate pi to the one playing the videos). 2 pi R squared.
I think they are home made ones not this kit?
I've run one off of a pi running XMBC and hyperion .. only thing is the Pi is a little laggy as a media player.
That depends on the software you are using. The Prismatik software it comes with is quite slow/limited as far as I have used it.
There's other software you can use, for example Boblight (with XBMC) or Ambibox (XBMC and other stuff.) I use XBMC and Boblight personally - it determines the colours and LEDs to use from the decoded video stream from XBMC rather than screen capture, which is a lot faster and uses less resources.
I must be a bit simple; I don't understand what this product actually is/does… even after clicking on the "Go to Deal" link!
Makes the wall behind your TV light up to match the video you're watching. Eg: if there's an explosion in the top right if the screen, the lights will shine orange and red on the wall at the top right behind your TV. If the movie goes underwater it will glow blue/green, etc.
Thank you salem, excellent explanation :)
Surprised Philips ain't opening a lawsuit since there copied there ambilight technology that I had about 6yrs ago on a Philips
using the term "ambilight" sounds more of a problem then the function to me…..
meh…. was hoping this was HDMI based
it isn't… USB controlled one :(
