Does anyone know whether you could hook this TV up directly to the topfield STB/DVR (and an external harddrive) from the following post to get a poor mans bedroom home theatre:

Wife and I need something small with lower power consumption (for babies room as background noise/breastfeeding etc) than our panasonic 50" plasma which according to our climate smart wireless power meter is consuming 300w when on.
According to ergon energy (my supplier)
Cents per kWh has gone up to 18.843so plasma tv costing me 5.65 cents per hour to run.
This screen has a HDMI input according to specs, and I believe (don't quote me on that, I didn't really check out the specs) that the STB has HDMI output, so it should work.
Or if you want the non glossy version for $260 with free shipping http://store.9289.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&pr… (They actually dropped the price by $10 after I bought it :()
So this monitor would work as a tv with a HD set top box (and speakers)?
whats the dead/bright pixel warranty?
here is the LMPP for Benq
http://benq.com.au/products/LCD/?product=1514&page=downloads…
All Series Models are Defect Free for 14 days from Purchase
BenQ Australia will replace LCD monitor that is found to have a bright or dark dot defect within 14
days of the purchase date.
If you gonna use this monitor as a TV, you would need to make sure it has built-in speakers and that the sound is good.
And you would need a remote control. I don't know which one is compatible. This monitor does have HDMI and is Full HD.
however, it does not have RCA input so poor old DVD player wont connect.
You may get away with a HD set top box similar to the Topfield with the dvd player included.RCA input?
Are you serious? Time to get with the times man. HDMI DVD players can be had for 70 dollars these days. And you'd be hard pressed to find a 24" or smaller monitor with built-in stereo speakers because virtually no one uses these as TVs.
Don't Pay: $499.00
Was: $289.95
Our Price: $259.95 GST Inc.
Shipping for me in WA is $36. Cheaper if NSW I guess.
9289 bit cheaper based on this for WA:
