Really loving the look of the Z3 and the Z3 Tablet Compact. Looks like my Nexus purchase this year might have some competition.
If water damage is your concern I think there is no competition.
MSY shipping to say perth - how would returns go? Have to be sent back/quite hard?

As far as I know, the main difference with the Z2 over the Z1 is an IPS display, providing better viewing angles. On the Z1, a grey hue goes over the screen the further you tilt it. Still usable though.
Also no shitty film on the screen.
Nah main difference is the battery, almost double the amount of usable time, ain't nothing like it.
z1 / z2 major difference is the 0.2 inch larger screen and 7 grams lighter!
Not a bad price, especially if you can claim gst back. Mind you its a bad time to buy a flagship phone, especially sony with their 6 month release schedule.
If you're a PS4 owner, I would recommend waiting for the Z3 as they just announced remote play for the device. This functionality will not be available on either the Z1 or Z2.
Yes, that feature does interest me. I'd like to know how extensive the remote play will be thouhg. Being software though, I can't see why limited to the latest model.

Recommend you think carefully about an all glass phone. These things are fragile. I have had a full leather cover on mine since day 1 and the back glass still "self cracked" for no apparent reason.
Z2 owner here.
Not fragile at all, dropped from chest height (1.6m), only a very small dent in the corner.Dropped accidentally down 3 steps, no glass crack on either front or back but the camera was damaged (black circular smudge), sony aus replaced the camera under warranty.
Still, I wouldn't chuck it at brick walls, but the z2 for me has been good to me.
Was that a Z1, though? I recall the Z1 and Z Ultra had these glass issues.
