E5300 - $1 more at MSY and PLE
E7500 - $10 more at MSY, $13 more at Netplus
    E8400 - $1 more at Netplus
    i7 920 - $4 more at PLE, $7 more at Netplus

Only one that seems decent is the E7500…

Thanks for doing the homework for the people in WA

      • +1 nice work tantryl

    Best prices according to staticICE;

    E5300 - $79 from IT Estate
    E7500 - $145 from IT Estate
    E8400 - $204 from AnyPC
    i7 920 - $349 from NetPlus and AnyPC

All processors are cheaper at other stores, not really a bargain.

To be fair, all those prices are conditional on buying something else.

My prices are both from WA stores (so shipping isn't a factor) and not conditional.

I've slashed the price for i7 a fair bit just to keep you people happy. The other cpu will retain their prices (which are still imo very reasonable).

    Happy saturday shopping.

    • +1

      Reasonable? Absolutely. Bargain? Not quite.

The new price on the i7 920 constitutes a bargain though, and the E7500 remains good.

      • I gotta agree with tantryl,

if you are looking to buy an i7 920 or an E7500 and live in WA it is good, but imo, not enough of a saving on the other processors to be bargains.

Edit: I was trying to say that the i7 and E7500 are good deals, but the others aren't bargains.

hmm 720 at $345 not good enough to be a bargain? it's a standalone price. Next cheapest standalone nationwide is $365 at itestate.

    • +1

Actually, I said it was a bargain. And I'm not certain what filshells is saying, as he seems to both be agreeing with me and saying it's not a bargain.

    The Core i7 looks good

  • It's a bargain for people in WA.

  • When you say, below cost is that real? Not having a go at you or anything, just genuinely curious if this is ever really done by sellers. I mean, perhaps if a product just wouldn't sell maybe, but processors will sell. Why would any business sell below cost? At cost maybe (as a promotional tool), but losing money on every one sold?

  • +1

It is for sure below cost. Times are bad. In all honesty I'm just creating an awareness by such promotions.

    • Interesting, thanks for the response - I hope things improve in 2010.

Also note that retailers have different cost prices. What might be below cost for one seller may still turn a profit for another.
