  • Are these the good ones or the dodgy ones? I can never follow the endless debates on which is which.

    • These are the Panasonic ones… that I believe are Chinese made!!!

      • Is that good or bad?

        • The jury is still out… They haven't been around for long enough to determine whether they are inferior or not! Most people are just basing judgement on the general consensus that Chinese QC isn't as good!
I'm sticking to the Japanese Sanyo for now!!!

          he doesnt know.

          none of them do.

      Nasty Panasonic Chinese made batteries!!
But they do come up as free shipping for me.

  • They were $34.98 delivered last week… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156874

    • -3

Those were for 8. These are for 16. It's still not super cheap, but if you need them right now it's still pretty decent.

      • They don't really get much better than $20 for 8 delivered from what I've seen (correct if I'm wrong!), so this is pretty good.

Chocolat Coloured Eneloop 2 Packs: AA 8x Pack $34.98 Delivered @ DSE

It was for 2 packs of 8… But that was using the $15off code and free shipping!!!

        • +1

Received my 2 packs of Chinese made eneloops today for $34.98 with the $15 off code. Looking at the batteries through the plastic I can't tell if they will work better than the jap ones.

        • Oh damn I can't read lol. My bad… I saw that deal when it was posted and I remember the link showing only one.

  • +1

Where does it say 2 pack?

    • +1

In the email I got. http://i.imgur.com/711m0Jl.png

      • Ok, yes but the DS website description is really stupid.

No where does it even mention, a 2 packs purchase. Really confusing for someone who just happen to come across this.

        • I know this, I'm not DSE I didn't write the website lol. In the preview image on this page though it shows 2packs. And at the bottom of the DSE page it says "Bundle".

        • @SuBw00FeR:
I noticed the same issue last week with the DSE site… You couldn't simply search for the deal, you had to have the direct link. Do you have the direct link from your email that you could post up?

        • @Snoop:

I'm not sure what you mean direct link? The link that it goes to when I click the image? That's what I put in the deal. But here it is again:

          http://click.e.dicksmith.com.au/?qs=0d19ad1be4d38eb5f33c2e7c…

        • @SuBw00FeR:
All good… It doesn't matter where you link to, it doesn't say 2 packs on the item page, only on the home page!

    • It doesn't… Please confirm OP???

      • I did, just before you posted.

    • It is showing up on the front page of the Dick Smith website - just click that.

  • i always see people in ozbargain talking about eneloops. So, they are basically rechargeable batteries. Are the extremely good and a must have, or they are just good enough? Also, i remember seeing some comments that the manufacturing place matters (china, europe, usa, etc). Is that really so important with these or not? I want to make sure before i buy some as this deal looks pretty good.

    • This deal is not good at all. You can get an 8 pack eneloop for $20 pretty much every second week.

This same deal was $34.98 delivered last week.

    • The key thing is their ability to hold charge when not in use jara, unlike "normal" rechargeables. If your batteries are in regular use then higher capacity, cheaper alternatives may be a better choice.

Funny… I was just thinking of starting a forum thread about 20 minutes ago that I hadn't seen an Eneloop deal posted today!

  • Anyone tell if these are Made in Japan or Panasonic trying to squeeze extra $$$ & paying el cheapo wages to chinese workers? :P ?.

    • And Clive reckons the Chinese are the 'bastards'! ;-)

    • A few people have purchased these from DSE recently and confirmed they're Panos from China!

      • Are all the ones with Panasonic labelling all made in china?

        • +1

No they are not, just the one intended for sale in Australia are made in China.

Other region still have Japanese made Panasonic Eneloop, not sure for how long.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Panasonic-Eneloop-Rechargeabl…

I also dont really think it really matter where it made.

A product made for intended sale in Australia would most likely have a proper quality control.

Panasonic are already saving a lot on labour cost having these batteries made in China. I don't see any reason they have to reduce quality for even more money.

China do have a bad reputation of bad/defective product but those are usually product not intended for export and are for sale domestically.
Chinese made product specifically made for domestic use usually have a lower quality as they also have to sell it for cheaper for the lower income chinese citizen(compare to australia).

People decide to export/import these chinese domestic product anyway and decide to sell at the premium because of profit.

chocolat are chinese - if it says panasonic on the cover then it's chinese
tropical, white and glitter ones are japan ie. sanyo branded

    • These will be 100% made in China.

  • any Sanyo types on sale anywhere?

    • If you can't find any the Fujitsu HR-3UTA comes from the same factory and is for most purposes "identical".
