    It looks pretty mean.

How many horsepower is it ???

  • +2

I believe the charges are NOT multi voltage therefor its highly likely the charger will be 110V not 240.

All my Oral B are 240V only.

    • +2

yea its a pain they changed all of them to be single voltage.

    • +2

      Confirming~
Q Voltage, can this be used between 110-220v? Apr 16, 2012
A: no it cant….just brought mine to Asia too :(
This one comes with a US charger (not 220v/240v)

      are you sure?

i just checked my trimuph 5000 charger i got here in australia.. 100-240v

myabe our charger is the only ones for world wide then

  • can you use this toothbrush on your existing charger?

    • +24

best to use it on your your teeth

      • existing charger of the same model: highly yes as chargers have different voltage of the same model as rokkz mentioned above
      • existing charger of different model: very unlikely as my family and relatives have a combine of more than five different models and the chargers are in different shapes. None of them can be used to charge the others.
    • This will fit on other Oral B Professional series chargers. I've used mine on an older model (similar to the 1000) charger but note it is actually a higher output Wattage (1.2W 5000 vs 2W older model). I suspect that just means it will charge faster on the old charger.

Note that both chargers are 240v only.

next time, don't buy anything other than deals on OzBargain………..

I purchased another Oral B toothbrush from Amazon US last year and it was only a 110/120V charger. Thankfully had a 230V charger that could charge the toothbrush instead.

  • Thanks for this.. had an old 5000 that is 5 years old.. on its last legs.. this will be a handle replacement

  • I have an old triumph 9000… any chance any one knows if this will fit in the 9000's charger?

    Thanks!

  • If you have a aus charger will it charge this

  • +1

It's a great brush. If it ships from the UK, it will be 220v but will have round pin euro plug.

I just bought a Triumph 7000 from US. I can confirm there is only 110/1220 charger. Ironically, the charger sold in Australia is 110-240. They have similar looks, but apparently Americans do not care the rest of the world…….

    • it mean American doesn't carry toothbrush while traveling, or, they simply don't travel…….

      • Only 36% of Americans own a passport, so…

        • That would still be 100 million people

  • link to coupon?

      • Thanks! I just found it under 'Todays Deals' (on the top left of screen). It shows up at the bottom.

Strangely, I could not find it on the coupon page.

so buy or not guys given the charger issue?

    • +2

I have the 5000, purchased from BigW about 18 months ago. So I am purchasing this for my partner, and she can get her charge on my dock.

      • Nice.

      • She can get her charge on your 'dock' hey?

  • I bought this the last time Big W had a sale, it is a great toothbrush. Made my gums bleed real good (which is a good thing).

    • +1

so it made your gums bleed? (and which is a good thing?)

  • I am confused - to buy or not to buy due to the charger issue. Can the plug be fixed by putting an international adapter on the plug?

    • +2

No. It will burn out. 220v on a 110v charger is just asking for trouble. You need to buy another compatible charger or buy an expensive voltage converter. If you dont have it, probably just buy a vitality toothbrush on the cheap when its on special and share it.

So glad I read this. Have cancelled the order. Thanks!

  • Thanks Op, what about the spare brushes are they worth it

  • I've had this toothbrush for 2-3yrs and love it. Been the best electric toothbrush I've owned.

Mine is a local purchase and came with 100-240V plug pack.

    Great price!!

  • Damn it, I can't cancel the order. I thought an international adapter would've fixed the charger issue.

  • Thanks. I have a local one I bought 4 - 5 years back and the battery is basically gone. Was looking for a replacement handle so this will do nicely. I'll use it on the existing adapter.

edit: And just saw the blog post above about it not working. Ack. Cancelling now

I too have one of these, its appox 2 years old and the Battery is GOOOONE :(

Cost me approx $140 on sale back then too so not too pleased its only lasted this long and I don't think you can fix it either

  • Bought one of these about 2 yrs ago. I'm on the 2nd one now as the first decided not to fully charge itself. The one that replaced it under warranty is also a bit iffy. It can be fully charged one day and the next day have a flat battery. So now it lives on the charger all the time. Even so it once was flat even when it was on the charger. Personally i wouldn't buy another one. I've had base model oralb brushes before and they have never given any problems

  • Hey guys,

Sorry if this is already answered though for those of us in Australia wanting to buy this, how do we solve the charger voltage / plug issue easily/cheaply?

    Thanks

    • I mentioned it further up but I believe this is the charger you need - http://www.statewideservices.com.au/trickle-charger.html

Doing a search on Ebay gave some results for "Oral B 3757" where '3757' is the model number I took from my other link. Ebay prices were about $11.50 shipped…no idea how well they do or don't work.

  • Just check the voltage first - I bought one from Amazon last year and when I plugged it in smoke poured out - it was fried due to voltage.

  • Not sure about the voltage issue, sorry, but just to let you know it is an excellent toothbrush and very powerful. Battery charge lasts for about a week or even longer. You may want to keep an eye out for the double pack (I bought ours a year ago from Myer $119 after cashback) which got you 2 handle units and 1 charger. We have 2 bathrooms so it's great to have 1 in each and it's not a problem only having 1 charger as they last so long without a recharge.

  • is it me or has the price gone up?
