Hoover Pets Bagless Vacuum Cleaner $69 (Save $130) @ Godfreys

50

Speaking from my personal experience, it is better to clean the filter throughly after each use in order to maintain the optimised suction power. It will also help the vacuum to last longer

  • Can't find any reviews for this model. Good price though?

    • Review is in the description under customer reviews:

Excellent value for money. Glad I didn't listen to the sales person in store!

Great - what I expected and I doubt the $700 vacuum staff kept trying to upsell was not much different.

      does everything asked of it

The product I bought was an absolute piece of junk!! It means I'll never buy online for this product again & means my likelihood of buying through godfreys is down substantially as I can now compare elsewhere in stores.

      • Because reviews on a site controlled by product manufacturer are totally trustworthy.

Was hoping for comparisons to similar models from known good brands (nilfisk, Henry)

To clarify for people, Hoover is Godfreys home brand. Not the famous hover brand of the past.

    • Yup, Hoover vacuum brand (in Australia) is owned by Godfreys. It has nothing to do with the global Hoover company. So don't expect much from this machine.

      • +1

Wow how did they manage that and why isn't Hoover (US) doing anything about it?

      • I own a hoover small bagless vacuum cleaner (i have another large vacuum for a bigger area). It works quite well but only for small rooms or cars carpet. Make sure you clean the filter well after use for optimising the suction power.

        Brands[edit]
Godfreys currently holds the license to distribute Hoover brand vacuum cleaners in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to the Hoover brand, Godfreys also distributes the Wertheim brand of cleaning products in Australia, and recently have begin providing Lux products from Europe under the brand name Sauber due to name infringement issues with Lux Asia Pacific which is owned by Vorwerk

        Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godfreys

Hoover is NOT a home brand of Godfreys. They hold a license to distribute them.

        • I read on wiki also lol. Check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hoover_Company#Hoover_in_Au…

Search for this phrase "The vacuum cleaner side of the business was sold to Godfreys". It's a rather long article.

My interpretation of the above is different with yours. To me it means Godfreys can make vacuum & distribute it using Hoover brand in Australia. If they just simply sell Hoover (US) vacuum, they wouldn't need to acquire any license.

  • Can't believe Godfrey's acquired the right to use Hoovers good name.
Rate Godfrey's as total BS artists/liars. Stung once with their POS Wertheim cleaner (another Euro sounding house brand)
    . Never again.

    • Some Wertheim's are half made in Europe (motor/case) and half made in China (power heads, hose, accessories); though I'm betting a majority are now wholly Chinese-made. This ex-Godfrey's salesman on WP explained why they peddle that junk so much.

Interesting but very logical cheers. Our Wertheim was a total piece of sh#_t fell to bits just after the warranty expired.
They flog em hard and make them sound like Miele, Bosch kind of equivalents but they are junk. Ours was "European" in a Borat kind of way (made in Poland).

        • I had one myself about 6 or 7 years ago (Wertheim XL 180); it actually fared better than a continually-overheating LG I previously owned, it might have come from an era when Wertheims weren't totally sh*t. The hose gave out on it though; developed a split from fairly ordinary usage after about 4 years, which I sealed with Tommy Tape and Duct Tape. It still works and I use it once in a while to vacuum the car.

Ours was "European" in a Borat kind of way (made in Poland).

Same. Mine was made in Slovenia. Not there's anything wrong with Slovenia but it sure as sh*t isn't Germany in the reliability scale and the faux-Germanic name is obviously designed to inspire such misconception.

I bought this one a week ago, it's great value and the pet head is great to pick up hairs and other garbage, I've used and owned other vacum s under 100 bucks but this one is alot better. It sucks! And it has a great filter.

  • the argument about who makes this vacuum aside, 69 bucks is damn cheap for a vac with a brush head/turbo floor tool or whatever you want to call it

    • Yep, people like to debate on a product they never own and call it a junk. Guys, where can you get a bagless pet vacuum with 12 months warranty for $69??
