I just use www.yourtv.com.au, it's free… :)
Hardly the same.
No it's not, it's much cheaper…
Completely different. Nothing to do with price.
IceTV does device-embedded EPG and scheduling.
YourTV is just a web page TV guide.
Jeeezuz, who did the GUI on that site, it's horrid. I think my eyes were burnt.
I was glad to see IceTV featured on 'The Checkout' on ABC TV.
Their previous "Lifetime" deal (max of 5 years) was ridiculous.Love 'The Checkout', it's made for Ozbargainers. Even watched that episode on iView.
Unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure of spending $150+ on a subscription service and remembering to tell my PVR to record it so I could watch it back later.
Next time I'm sweet!
IceTV— sounds pretty cool
It is extremely cold now. Especially at night.
I can't see why someone would want an IceTV in winter. As I wrote last time this deal was on:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/144530
"If you are a regular subscriber, the good folk at IceTV may sell you a 12-month renewal for $49 instead of $99. You just have to ask.
Anyway this current deal is basically a 'pay for 3, get 4 years' subscription (based on the $49/year price I usually pay)."Thanks for the heads up my email was in the spam folder, missed out last month and nearly missed it again.
I've never paid a cent to IceTV, and somehow I have an expiry of Jan 1, 2020.
edit: I just realised they have different membership levels; I'm obviously not a full member.
Thank-you magnificent Leadtek-Winfast-PVR2-w/ embedded EPG + scheduling; dtvtuner card- package@<$50; certainly saved a bundle over the years by nothing too silly.
Plus TY smart thumb drives/networked-Tv, making playback trivially easy (as ea case may be).
FYI, appears to be no surcharge if paying by paypal linked to your CC.
Is there any benefit paying for IceTV vs the free default MythTV fetchers I currently use?
In your case (HTPC) probably not, but for those with standalone PVR's its invaluable IMO.
hmmm got this email when this deal begun, thought it would have sold all 500 straight away.
I have 5 years on my IceTV now…. lol but its hard to live without it now.
Thanks bud - been looking to renew from last buy up! I paid via PayPal and there were no transaction fees!
