There are run/jogging groups if you're looking for people to go with you. My workplace has one. I'm not in it because the path and checkpoints are nowhere near takeaway places. Hell I can jog twice as fast as the best of them if I have proper hot foods motivating me.
Did it once. Really expensive since you don't even get a free t-shirt unlike Nikesheruns ($70). But still a great experience with your friends and family since they close all the roads.
