  • Both codes now fail for me on Android (maximum use). Already made two orders yesterday so might just be a 'maximum use' for my account, if others are still working who havent used them before…

    Note that product substitution is ticked by default. I.e. Woolies may swap the stuff you ordered with something similar. Make sure you unclick it before submitting the order. Found this out the hard way.

    Seriously, which other online shop does this? Oh, if we don't have it in stock, we don't bother contact you, and just chuck in whatever else is within reach?

      Substitution works for me! Just use with cheapest products. Sometimes get upgrades from Homebrand for FREE ;-)

        Substitution itself isn't a problem. The problem is that they have it ticked by default.

          That's why my suggestion is to CHOOSE which to apply, for your potential benefit. Often comes out $10/order better off.

          Never lost out by substitution. But if you turn off substitution on a discount deal like this & they cant supply, you receive a refund LESS this 40% discount. If I don't like their choice, I can swap it at my local Woolies.

          So deselecting substitution may not be a good deal!

        • Whenever you buy a product never purchased before from the site, the substitution box is ticked by default, yes.

          After unticking, that product will remain unticked in any future visits, thankfully.

          When we allow substitution, we often specify which products are acceptable substitutes, and which ones are not.

        • You can change it in ur account settings so substitute is not ticked by default

        • BB, if that applies to new products bought, ongoing, that's good to know.

          Ordered 1 $4 180g salad pack, got 2 $3 150g packs of similar.

          If I hadn't selected substitute, I would have received code worth $2.40 ($4 less 40%) to use against next order.

          I'm happy. Rather have $6 of useful product than $2.40 coupon. Salad in the sun for lunch - it's already 25C.

        • wrong…you would have got a refund of $4. If the coupon was to take a percentage value off the total cart price, then you would've got $2.40 refund. The coupons are both fixed price discounts. Trust me, both occurrences have happened to me.

        • You are correct - This DEAL is fixed discount.

    • They usually give you a similar product that is worth more, so it comes out in your favour. I bought a kilo of pork chops, ended up with 1.3kg for the same price, so I don't complain. :)

        That's a regular occurrence. If you bought in-store, you would have to pay for the extra. Love the FREE meat ;-)

  • It wouldn't work for me on ios app when I tried to place my second order, but I logged onto another email account and it worked, so not expired yet!

    Delivery driver was confused… delivered order, went back to truck to prepare next delivery - same address, & repeat. Told him about deal, so he's going to order on his break. He said this has happened so many times tonight.

    As at 7:55PM EST, Still works on Android app as others have said. BUT no longer 3 uses per account - only 1 use! Second time gets an error message being maxed out! :(

    EDIT: I created a new account using the same details and same EDR number - IT WORKS!

    I got a call from woolies and thought oh no, they are cancelling the orders. Lady said you know you have 3 orders all exactly the same. She asked if i wanted all 3 orders and i said yes. She said no probs. So yes guys they are honouring multiple orders of alcohol.

    When I did not even contact them or anything, I did not even ask for a refund. What is this!? Anyone else have the same issue?

    • Same email. Same bullcrap. Last time I ordered they stuffed me around so much and surprise surprise. Including taking out nearly $100 unauthorised from my account.

      • Multiple accounts in same name was the issue. I do remember seeing something on this when signed up. She was just so sweet so I did what she wanted.

    1st account: Use both codes successfully for 3 times last night. Collected via Click and Collect 2 hours ago.

    2nd account: Use both codes successfully for 1 time last night. Collected via Click and Collect 2 hours ago.
    Tried using it another time (on Android) 2 hours ago but couldn't get it to work. Got error msg saying maximum usage reached.

    I downloaded WW apps on iphone and didn't work. Yes I am very persistent…

    3rd account: Remembered I've got a 3rd account with first 3 deliveries still unused. Used both codes and got free delivery. On Android. Tried a 2nd time using both codes and not successful.

    Conclusion: Android still works but only 1 time usage per account.

    Order cancelled, paid using wish card. Got $0.00 refund. Now woolies stealing customer money? My order is for click and collect this Saturday and I never contacted them!

      I gather from a comment in another thread that you'll need to ring and nominate a CC for them to refund the Wish Card money onto. Let us know how it goes.

        Can you share the thread? I have already called them. Got put on hold for like 10 mins whilst the girl tried to find out why my order was cancelled. Came back and told me supervisor will call me back without telling me why the order was cancelled. I asked her about my non refund and she said the supervisor will discuss that when I get a call back. I'm still waiting for my call back. Not happy woolies!!!

        • I can't remember the specific thread, but don't worry.
          It will be resolved and I'm sure that somebody in this thread will have had a similar 'not-exactly-wished-for' situation, and will comment about it.

    • I got the email as well, I use mix payment (gift card plus credit card ).
      The email didn't even mention the refund at all, no such sentence as "Your order has been cancelled and …… refund……" Only the giant "your refund notification" next to the kiwi fruits.

      I called up just now and was told that any amount paid by gift card will be refunded by issuing and mailing brand new gift cards. Any amount paid by credit card will be refund to that specific credit card.

      Add: I didn't contact them too, but got the email started as 'Thank you for contacting Woolworths Online regarding order XXXXXXX delivered on.' Not even a full sentence.

      • Lots of people in the thread. Comment back here as regards the giftcard reissues and how long they take to arrive.
        If that's the way they're going to do things, there'll be quite a few here waiting in the same boat…

        • I've had lots of discussion about refunds when gift cards were used. I've had different information from different staff members. I got one who insisted it had to be a store credit coupon and not a gift card in the mail refund. The last staff member I spoke to about a subsequent refund said she would organise a gift card in the mail but it would be two weeks before it was sent out. I'm still waiting.

        • I was told the gift cards will be sent out next week. Let's just wait and see…..

        • Just received an email to cancel my First order. All my three order are cancelled.
          Because I used gift card to pay the full amount of this order, there is a Coupon ID inside the email with $0.00 amount and expire on 20 Sep 2014.
          I called up 1800 number again and was told different story this time: the gift card refund will be given as online store credit. What the Fxxxxxx?

      • Have previously had refund on order paid with Woolies gift cards.

        They sent a code to use with next order.

        As they had stuffed up many orders I said I would not buy online again. Repeated received dairy products near expiry - sent email & easily refunded. (I now add request for longest shelf life)

        Needed to call & was sent gift card.

        Strangely was given TWICE the $16 refund due - so complaining & threatening not to place another order worked! (Still ate the FREE yoghurt)

        • Yes, same account. The only difference was, the two orders that got cancelled were the orders that I made after Woolies modified it to one coupon only. Thus my question above.

        • My second and third order got email cancellation as well, no news for the first order yet. They were all to be delivered late tomorrow. And they were all made when two codes were allowed on woolies website.

        Same here. I only placed one order and it got cancelled. I didn't actually buy my groceries expecting to get it delivered. And now it's cancelled.

  • I didn't get any cancellations, but the items I ordered were mostly health food items (low carb noodles, Fine Fettle flats) and Stevia, I suspect it may have something to do with stock and they probably ran out of most household goods.

    • One of my orders that got cancelled was all meat products; chicken fillet, beef etc.

    • Most likely orders placed last night will be cancelled, after the 1 coupon rule came in. Unlikely it has anything to do with your eating habits ;-) Woolies is only interested in your money.

    • Given the volume of orders made - from OzBargainers alone - orders destined to be cancelled may still be on deathrow into early next week, depending on delivery day specified.
