  • lol a 20" bars is good for the backyard. Safer getting an aborist saw but are 5x the price

  • I had a Yukon pole saw (from a similar cheap eBay deal) and every 5th or so time I used it the chain and guard cover would loosen so much that the chain literally flew off into the bushes while it was spinning. I was tightening the chain and bolts properly each time before, just sometimes the vibrations from the branches would loosen the screws more than normal.

Pretty dangerous - lucky for me the chain flung away from me each time but I stopped using it and bought a better brand, now have no problems like this.

Many things I would buy cheap brands, a chainsaw is not one of them

good quality and bad quality chainsaws are equally dangerous in the wrong hands. A more powerful, good quality stihl or husky will tear you to pieces if you use it poorly and it gets you. I don't think they are more intrinsically safe.

Pretty sure this is the brand of chainsaw a mate took camping at easter, DO NOT buy this chainsaw! The air filter didn't even fit it's own housing and couldn't even filter a 5mm woodchip. The chain and bar were made of the softest metal I've seen in a while and nothing fitted/tightened up properly. Now he's had that a few years and is still alive but just saying as a person who owns several Husqvarna saws imho this thing is outright dangerous and I wouldn't use it! Just Saying.

  • Clarification, when I said the bar/chain were soft what I meant was:

    1) The chain was basically unable to hold an edge due to just being crap quality
    2) The bar was branded "Oregon" but doubt it, so thin and you could grab the end and flex it easily, way too easy for the chain to come flying off if the thing flexed in use.

Sure you could always replace them but I'd invest in something better. The BaumerAG ones aren't as bad that I've seen but I'll stick with my Husky's.
