Guys, this is BIG!!!

Ebay is offering 15% off everything this Sunday.

The Deal Summary

  • Valid Sunday 22/6 from 10:01 until 23:59 only.
  • 60 000 coupons !!!!
  • 1 coupon per customer - (linked with paypal)
  • Available to all "active" ebay & paypal customers (not a targeted offer)
  • Max. discount $100 (achieved by buying something for $666.67 or greater)
  • Min. spend $50
  • eBay AU url only.
  • COUPON CODE: CBIGSUNDAY

Handy Hints:

  • use the good old desktop for best functionality such as add to cart multiple items
  • Multiple items works as long as in same currency
  • Item location not in Australia also works as long as it is listed on eBay AU
  • postage also attracts discount
  • Items bought before Offer started and paid for now also works (that's where all the gift cards went :)
  • check that the discount has been applied on the eBay checkout page and in PayPal just before you pay
  • why does my PayPal transaction show the full amount after the purchase? GOTO PayPal, find the transaction, Click details, you will see a 15% contribution from CBIGSUNDAY courtesy of eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest.
    It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (image courtesy of ezarc)
    If it doesn't show the coupon in the details then you haven't done it right. You will also see the discount details in the payment confirmation details.

BIG THANK YOU to everyone for their vote. Thank You!

The Story (speculation on my behalf)

One could assume that there is a story behind this as I have seen this on eBay in other countries recently and my assumption is that it’s an effort to drive top line sales and bring the stock price back up due to eBay's challenges in 2014:

Ebay’s stock price was recently at a 52 week low at US$48.06 and has been on a consistent decline since 2014. There are several factors that have influenced this (not in order of impact):

  1. The recent security issue/alerts;
  2. Departure of some key executives;
  3. The infighting with investor Carl Icahn;
  4. Alibaba IPO around the corner with Alibaba posing a real threat to Ebay;
  5. Amazon consistent strength and expansion (they’ll be here next year!);
    (perhaps 4&5 should have Australian retail worried too!)
  6. Google Search algorithm changes resulting in lower rankings for ebay listings;
  7. Shut down of eBay Now - same day service;
  8. Some other undisclosed events (speculation).

Either way, I’m happy to support them this weekend and I’ll be buying up on Sunday !!!

The Instructions

  1. Proceed to Ebay Checkout Page: Checkout: Review order
  2. Enter coupon code in redemption code box (bottom right) and press apply
  3. Press Continue and pay with paypal
  4. Verify in the paypal screen/system that the discount was applied before you complete your order.

Hint: If you are buying multiple items then make sure the currencies of the items are the same because you will only get one shot at this coupon.

Please let us know what you are going to buy and share your bargains below please.

Start adding product(s) to your watchlists today and enjoy!

Will the professionals crash the site?

If you do the math then this is a potential $6 000 000 spend from eBay!

    • It was always going to happen but they are just trying to make some money, just as we are all trying to save some money.
      In reality Ebay should charge listing fees and reduce selling fees, that way Ebay wouldn't be full of these kind of deals.

      I had everything in my cart that I wanted last night, then this morning just went through check out…no mark ups for me!

  • Any other GC deals?

    • +1

      All the good ones are gone. Most of the remaining ones and new ones are mostly sellers taking advantage of the 15% off by doing the 10% markup and use the remaining 5% to entice buyers to buy today.

    • Multiple items works as long as in same currency

    so i can buy all my items from US ?
    and does the coupon still work? cause i just logged in D:

    Edit: Gone now as expected.

    • Yours for only 505. Oh my, here come the scammers…. (not this listing necessarily, just generally).

      • yep, check previous posters. listing $500 gift cards for $560 now.

      • gifte sold the VISA cards with $4.95 extra on top, so I dont see an extra $5 being a scam?

        • You do have to pay a fee to purchase prepaid eftpos cards so there increase is justified.

    Regarding the CODE being used early (before the official 10am start).

    Here is eBay's reply:-

    Over night the team were doing a lot of testing on the eBay site for our biggest sale yet. During this time a number of customers used the coupon code early. Rest assured, to keep things fair, we only started the coupon count from 10am and are honouring the same amount of coupons as we had always planned. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

    • +3

      good on them

    • Any idea where you can go to see how many coupons have been used???

      • +1

        Of course they will not disclose that information.

      • Any idea where you can go to see how many coupons have been used???

        They said that they will publish 'warnings' on their Facebook page when the number of uses left begins to get 'low'. Whatever that means….. So, keep an eye on their Facebook page.

      In other words..

      We fcuk(tm) up, and did not test properly, and implemtented a code on a live server.

      However we are nice (because we have to) and still having the same amount of codes for people.

      People who used the code before 10am will still get the deal because we already paid the sellers via PayPal. A SEPARATE COMPANY

      • +2

        A separate company who happens to have the same owner. ebay = paypal = evil.

  • +9

    Still can't find something to buy lol

    • sunday must be a quiet day as listings are low

      • Sunday is their biggest shopping day of the week. This is well documented and it is recommended listings should finish on Sunday evenings. Today will be their biggest Sunday this year.

  • How can I combine items in single transaction on iPhone? Only processing single items

    • Add to cart, don't press buy it now

    • On phone, choose classic site on bottom of page. Then you will get the same site as the desktop and can use add to cart for multiple items.

  • Haven't done this before, How do you pay two sellers together in one transaction so I can use the code? or it's not necessary and i can pay them individually and enter the code each time? ….

    • +1

      add each item to cart —> checkout (apply coupon here)

      • +1

        sh*tt! i've already pulled the trigger (commit to buy) on two items individually ? any solution? :(

        • +1

          just rebuy it if you can and let seller know to cancel it, I'm sure they wouldn't mind

    • +1

      Use the 'add to cart' button!

      • Thanks CMicheal, but as i said, I've already commit to buy and they're sitting on my eBay summary awaiting payment. If only there was a way to combine them together and pay through paypal…

        • +1

          Add it to the cart again along with tjhe other stuff you want to buy then checkout.

          Message the seller and say you made a error and please cancel the unpaid item as you already bought the item from them.

      • Oh i got it, thanks a lot Pal! you saved my day!

        • -1

          It's all good, all i had to do was just press the "Cart" button at top right corner, it gave me the summary of my purchases and from there on i just had to proceed to the checkout page to enter code. Thanks guys!

      Yet you did not give the OP/Deal a positive vote?

      EDIT:
      Why are you fools negging my comment?
      If a user benefits from a deal, surely they should thank the OP by voting?

      This user DID vote, BUT ONLY AFTER my gently chiding.

      • At this point it's like buying a beer for a billionaire. Nice gesture, but he's probably good without it.

        • At this point it's like buying a beer for a billionaire. Nice gesture, but he's probably good without it.

          I used to be a millionaire (back when it may have been equivalent to being a billionaire these days)- I always appreciated someone buying me a drink back then, or when I received complementary movie tickets etc.

          It costs msmart85 nothing to vote for the deal - from which they have obviously benefited, and as you said, it would be a nice gesture.

          In any case, being "like buying a beer for a billionaire" is not a valid reason to down vote my comment.

        • Sorry to upset you A3 however I was on the run when purchasing and thought it was more important to share good deal for everyones benefit .. More then happy to vote however there is no need to carry on like you have … Hence the neg votes I guess

    • Get the Sony RX100. Check out the reviews on it. Probably $50 more expensive but well worth it.

  • It is not allowing me to buy all items in my cart at the same time?

    • Make sure they're all using the same currency ie. AUD

      • They were, all items were showing in the cart but at as you proceeded to checkout there were items that it did not have added up for payment. After checking out it said you still have items in your cart! Not sure why it did not collect all the items for payment! Next time you can apply the code again but Mr. PayPal reject it as the code has been used!

      I really like my Ergohuman, but I can't remember if its a V1 or V2. Didn't seem much different from the Aeron I tried but half the price. 10 year warranty too.

    All his listings GONE. Told you guys yesterday, his account is NOW LOCKED BY EBAY AND PAYPAL DUE TO SIGNIFICANT JUMP IN SALES !!!

    • +2

      Listing are all gone because THEY WERE SOLD.

      • no, they were less known gift card, I think bbqwer is right.

        • You don't have to take my word for it.

          Seller has left feedback for 193 gift card buyers in the last ~13 hours.

    • Poor guy, typical of ebay/Paypal when they see a spike - yet they more or less created the spike!

    • What makes you say their account is locked as opposed to them having no stock?

    • Excellent idea - thanks!
      Weird that they were already cheaper than Australia Post's bulk prices :S

      • Yeah, I don't know where people who sell these get them. Only thing I can think of if if they are business owners and somehow get benefits through tax or something? Either that or people are nicking them from their workplaces!

Paid $800 for a $1500 delivered with warranty. I am very happy indeed thanks, and very happy with the seller too.
    Thought I may miss out on the 15% off deal waiting for the seller to reply to my offer.
