AGORA (Kogan) 55" Smart 3D LED TV Full HD (Android 4.2) $690 Delivered

140

The TV is listed Here on Kogans website for $799 + Delivery. (Delivery to QLD would be $80, meaning a $190 saving)

Comes with 2x 3D glasses - note that this is passive 3D (polarised 3D, like the cinemas), not active shutter 3D. As far as I know the draw back is it doesnt work to well in bright lighting, but it does mean light glasses with no battery charging.

      but the price is cheap

    • +3

yeah, wish it was 100hz and non-3d

      • +3

        Lol,
I wish it were 75 inches and holographic!

Well, for this price at least you can choose NOT to use the 3D button on the remote,
And to not watch 3D content
(Which incidentally is the superior passive type of 3D, rather than the headache inducing active shutter 3D of the samsungs and sony's I own and have owned)

I was being realistic.. Kogan used to sell the same tv without 3D or android, but @ 100hz, for around the same price. http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/55-led-tv-full-hd-120hz-pvr/

        • I don't think that makes it the same TV any more… same size display certainly…

Heh, another sheep caught by marketing .
      Question ….do you own a 100 or 200Hz TV?

Do you actually use that feature?

Answer on behalf of 75%+ of people out there that don't like the soap opera / cartoony colours….
      Nope.

Very good price for a large screen TV with average picture quality,
      Gets a + for me

      • +1

Not a sheep, I watch sports, and its a must. Shame coz otherwise great deal.

        • I love watching footy and F1 on my tv but stupid motion view or whatever it's called with different manufacturers makes all other tv viewing so crap that I need to have it turned off.

Why can't they put a sports button on the remote to toggle it on and off?

        • Hey goatus, can you please explain to us how 100/200Hz motion compensation works, and exactly how it makes your TV sports viewing better? Thanks in advance! :)

        • No idea how it works technically - assume it does some trickery with the frames. Its much smoother. Plasma still trumps it tho.

        • Cool. Did you know how many FPS for Australian TV (PAL) broadcast?

        • 29 from memory - like i said above there is some frame trickery/processing going on to get the effect, but it makes for a much more pleasant sporting experience. Thanks for the smugness tho champ ;-)

Thanks for the smugness tho champ ;-)

No smugness at all old son, just letting you demonstrate your own ignorance; you're clearly butthurt because you've obviously realised that my assistance was simply not required on that. :D

Given these startling revelations, do you really think that you should be advising people on what they need from a TV??? Baaa…

        • +1

I have a sports button on my Bravia LED 3D R550a. Works a treat

        • +1

If you are interested in the technical nature of how the frame processing works in 100hz TVs feel free to look into it. Many people here will attest that it does infact work very well (most specifically for sports). Self righteous questions you seem to already know the answer to does not a wise man make.

  • Is it more functional or better value than http://catalogues.dicksmith.com.au/offer/lcd-televisions/dic… ?

    • 3D & a Smart TV (Internet connected, web browsing, Apps etc..), so yeah.

  • Would NEVER buy a tv or anything electronic without seeing it operating first

That's why I luv ALDI, you get 60 days to try

Is not AGORA like Silkroad? :-)

Maybe YOU should have TESTED the CAPS LOCK on your KEYBOARD before you BOUGHT it! ;)

    • 14 Day No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee
At Kogan, we stand behind our product! That's why we offer a 14 Day No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee on all Kogan branded TVs. Do you realize how much it costs to send back a TV using a courier? Its about $70 if you don't already know. Kogan will not cover the return fee so its not much of a customer satisfaction guarantee.

        • Nevertheless it is better than even the name brands provide.
If someone spends $500-1K on a TV and it's a complete dud I think most would be happy they could get their money back -$70.

  • Wow. so tempting. but I have already bought a 32 inch tv last week.

    • +1

Yeah, quite tempted to get one and replace with UHD when they mature/get cheaper.

  • Very refreshing to see the actual contrast ratio in the specs instead of the dynamic CR bullshit. Actual Contrast Ratio 1400:1 (ANSI)

  • Anyone able to post an image of the inputs and position?
    Cheers

  • Thanks for posting this deal. Our old Kogan TV (32", 3 years old) expired last week and we have been watching our 19" TV. Not quite the same. Was seriously considering buying the TV from the Kogan website for $799 plus $80 postage. $190 saving was too good to pass up.

  • Wonder how it compares to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148199 - $498!
