Its pretty bad on a PC as well. Bring back the old site!

  • pretty good deal.
just maybe check you aren't getting a cardboard roller.. on that filigan<?> brand there were a few reviews saying they had to replace them. one said they replaced a roller a couple of times and now were returning them all. seemed to suggest they were made of other materials but now are cardboard.. perhaps that's why they are clearing them

    • bought and installed the roller blinds. good quality material and the rollers inside are metal.

      • The biggest problem I found with the generic blinds from Bunnigs/Masters are that their winding mechanism breaks very quickly. They either becomes too hard to roll up or down or the chain starts skipping on the grew of the winding disk. Once this happen no choice otherthan throwing it away and buy a new one.
However the ones I bought from a blind place has very simple winding mechanism but last longer and doesn't give any problem.

    are these hard to install?

just got a $4K quote for roller blinds for my new house. If these are good, might grab these instead

    • how hard depends on your skills and if you own a drill.
most would find it easy.. typically you screw two cups, one each side, then click the blind in.. easy for one person. you may have to hacksaw the pole if the blinds are too wide.
for $15 it seems you can find out.

      • Thanks

I'll have a look at the store tomorrow

    • Found this video on fitting and installing Roller blinds on youtube - seems very straightforward. Not sure about Romans or Slats.

Site is hard to use, especially to see if there click and pick. But thanks. As a kid had cardboard roller blinds. They lasted from 7 till I left home the first time. [family changed houses second return home]

Thanks OP!! Just fitted my new unit for only ~$200 :D

  • I've had nothing but bad experiences with masters. Last time we bought a karcher online by click and collect, paid for it, turned up to pick it up as organised and was told they'd run out of stock so would have to refund the money back onto my credit card. This sort of thing has happened twice now, can't recall the exact situation the other time but I've lost confidence in the Masters customer service

    • This has happened to me too

      What Colour is Golden Oak?

Is it nice? We have Natural cedar shutters inside our house and was wondering what Colour would suit these best

I looked at the Colour cedar and it's way too dark

Hard to tell in site, anyone help know?

Yup me too. I bought some paint online (discount code) and then did click and collect. When I got the paint in store the guy, the guy said based on the colour I wanted it tinted, I should swap it for a different grey a base (same paint, same cost, same brand etc). This is where the trouble began, even thought I was doing it in the same store, they refused to let me exchange and told me to buy another can of paint. I then asked for a refund (since an exchange wasn't possible???) and they told me this isn't possible either (???). I called from the store (using the store's phone too) and explained the problem to Masters Customer Service, the gentleman said the advice given was incorrect and I could swap it. He then asked to speak to the employee there who got in a big fight with him and hung up and stormed away (again WTF??!?!).

I then used the same phone and called them back and another phone employee said they will make a note I'm returning the item and leaving it at the store and they will contact me WITHIN a week to organise the refund.

Fast forward, 3 to 4 weeks later I have heard nothing so I called Masters Customer Service again. The employee that answered read a note on my order that said "Customer has returned paint and store provided full refund to customer at the time." Seriously WTF again, NOT WHAT HAPPENED AND A BLATANT LIE. I voiced my disbelief and annoyance and asked to speak to a Manager who apologised and said I'd receive a refund within a week.

2 weeks later, called up as no refund received. Spoke to another Manager who told me a week and apologised. 1 week later, called up again as still no refund, yet another Manager apologised, sent me an email (not requested though) apologised very briefly in writing and that I would receive my refund within 2 - 5 days. The refund turned up into my credit card a week later.

Absolutely amazing stuff. After the staff at the store being quite rude and dimissive to me, I thought the phone team were great but they ended up being a wolf in sheep's clothing with never ending broken promises and half-hearted apologies.

  • I had a terrible sleep last night after experiencing the temperature plummet every time the heater shut off (the heat escaping out the four large windows in the room). So I see this post, realising I needed roughly four 180x210 cheap white blinds, and thought I had hit the jackpot. I checked the stock and, what a surprise, none left anywhere near me. :(

    • Try xhecking in store, my experience is that you'll find more than listed online

      • Definitely check in store. Went today expecting to find 2x120cm and 3x180cm wide blinds that suited my needs, but ended up going with a different colour/pattern and 5x210cm rollers. Either way I saved a good $300.

You've tried closing the windows right? :D

  • Good deal

Just measured my windows. And they got an odd measurement
    230x183cm
    270x220cm

How to buy the correct one?!?

I've got non-"standard" windows too, so I decided to go to my local Master's to see if the blinds could be easily trimmed & shortened. I did try calling first, but got the run-around.

I'm happy to report that the roller blinds look designed to be customised with very little effort - probably the case with other blind types, but I only wanted rollers. The roller blinds all allowed easy removal of the end caps and a hacksaw will make trimming the roller and the bottom bar easy.

Plenty of tutorials on Youtube on DIY installing of blinds, this one looks pretty good.

One other thing to keep in mind, some of the blinds I looked at today had aluminium roller tubes, while the others had cardboard. I'd recommend choosing the metal if the colours line up for you.

      • Thx drduck

      • When the non standard window has shorter length than 210 cm it's not a problem, you can alter a longer one to fit it. But when the window is wider than 210 you either have to do a custom blind or have to fit 2 narrow ones side by side.

I too have the same problem. In y house I have

        270(W) x 185(H) cm - 2 windows
        240(W) x 185(H) cm - 2 windows
        240(W) x 120(H) cm - 3 windows

Others are non standard too but can be altered from a wider one.

I haven't seen any standard blind wider than 210 cm.

I have fitted roller blind from Spotlight and Bunnings before. Their winding mechanism easily get stuck and becomes harder to wind over time. The steel chain also breaks into pieces. However the winding mechanism is much smoother in custom ones and doesn't break easily.

Given the very cheap price it might be worth going for a hassle in winding the blind.

    • Is 270cm the width or the height of the window? If width, do you have to get custom blinds or can you get away with two smaller blinds side by side?

      • 270cm is the width
Well now im using a blind that can rotate
        Its not the roller one

Yeah. Was thinking to get 2blinds for the 270 one. But dunno how hard to cut the Roomaker steel

  • +1

Save yourself the hassle. Pay more but on special at Spotlight. Even if the blinds happen to be just the wrong size, if you return with no damage you can exchange no questions.

Just replaced 4/7 curtains in the house with blinds/curtains and have saved money and time with what I've read as "bad customer service" from Masters.

Always a sale on blinds @ Spotlight.

    • 10 years ago I had Spotlight make mine to fit when on sale, they were cheap, are still looking really good and are 'stylish'. Well worth it.

One of them was a few mm too narrow and they have/had a policy of a tolerance of 5 mm (or what ever it was / is). Mine was 8mm short on width and I didn't like it, so they gave to me free and I lived w' it.

  • +1

be wary, we purchased several different sizes and the 60cm blind physically measures 58cm which renders them useless for their purpose.

    • Many brands of blinds and shades have this problem. Must read the smallprint on packaging.

  • st mary's store had a lot more stock compared to the chullora store

picked a few blinds for the house, thanks OP

  • Picked up some great bargains today.

210cm curtains were $30 but 90cm were reduced to $15 and then down to $10.50 each. Thanks Daveaus.

    • I bought 10 roller blinds of 120cm ones. $30 each and paid $300. Not sure how others get it for cheaper. The store person said the clearance price is 30.

      • I bought mine from Packenham. Picked up 3 of the exact same 90cm ones and they all had different prices. $30/$15/$10.50 so they put them through at the lower price. Most of the blinds didn't have prices on them and for some reason were randomly put on one side of the store and by the entrance.

Not sure what logic Masters uses (seemingly none) but I got a good deal at the end. Staff were quite friendly as well.

  • Thanks guys!

Got me the Roomaker Union Duo Roman Colour: Ash 60cm x 210cm fit perfect! very happy! scored em for $21.50 ! checked masters website price is listed for $30 so even better! not to mention I think original price is around $100

  • This is still going, and prices reduced more. Lot of blinds 85% off.

I went to collect my blinds (whole house worth), and there were a few mistakes. But staff were very helpful in sorting it out.
Got everything I needed, with matching materials where needed. Saved a fortune. One of the best deals ever - thanks!

Some branches have a better selection than others.
Easier to order online and sort it out later, than pick through the tables, I think.
Prices marked in store were often higher, though I was told they should scan at the lower price.

  • Have a very wide bedroom windows, curtains do not work well as the span is more than 3 mtrs and even with a support in the middle they do not run well, so I am thinking roman blinds will need to get exact measurements to work out but would be at least three and I think four small ones, anyone able to give me an idea if this would work? fix to the window frame at top? any advice would be appreciated, have had a quote for well over 600 for a custom made blind so am looking for a cheaper way.

    • What exact dimensions?
I'd use 2x 1.8m Roman, mounted on the wall above the window.
Unlike roller, no gap needed between.
A pair of Venetian s is another option.

  • thanks manic, I think that is what I will do, just need to get my measurements
