    I just tried it some some scanned receipts, the OCR did quite well & the bits it couldn't read it converted to a picture. Other stuff with tables worked very well. I'm quite impressed with it.

    I'm not sure if I would trust these guys. I only found this out right before I was going to download the software. And now, these guys have my email address. My spam email address, but still.

    How does it handle headers and footers. That always seems to be the thing that breaks ocr'd doc formatting.

      Not sure, Adobe Pro can convert Pdf back to World. Here it is a basically Pdf to World converter. On the other hand, Adobe pro is not FREE.

      No comparison really. Adobe Pro can turn a PDF back into the original Word doc it once was, this is just an OCR scanner. Great if you're only after the plain text but it will ruin most of your formatting (I just tried it with a fairly basic PDF doc).

      Funny how that happens on a site called "Windowsdeal", eh?

      Gives pretty funny results when you throw a PDF containing graphs at it, and it tries to decipher the curves in the graphs as text… but other than that, seems like a vaguely useful bit of software. Worth at least what I'm paying for it ;-)

    the site is a con to collect marketing data. all the programs are trials and available free from CNET etc.
